Herd Mentality Party Game – Big Potato Games

    , ,
A moo-velously simple party game... This is a party game for families, friends and cow rustlers. The aim of the game is simple: think like the herd and write down the same answers as your friends. For example, just write down the answer to a simple question such as: “What’s the best pizza topping?” and hope your answer matches the others. You’re trying to think like the herd, so even if you love Spam, or something else weird on your pizza, don’t write that! If your answer is part of the majority, you all win cows. Yeehaw! If everyone else writes an answer that is matched by at least one other person, but yours is the odd one out, then you land the angry Pink Cow, and your herd of cows is worthless until you can offload it onto someone else. The first player to collect eight cows wins.

What Came First – Big Potato Games

    , , ,
Pick a side. Place your bets Flush toilet or stop sign, mayo or ketchup, Statue of Liberty or Eiffel Tower… reckon you know which came first? Then it’s time to put your money where your mouth is. The more you wager, the more you win and the faster you move around the track – but get it wrong and you’ll be heading backwards in a hurry. The first team to cross the Finish Line wins. The team with the Dealer Chip goes first. They choose to either bet one, two or all three of their chips on the ‘correct’ side of the board. When they’ve locked their bet in, move clockwise around the table until all teams has placed their chips. Teams can risk a side bet if they’re feeling really confident by placing one chip on the Year Circle. If they choose the right side, and guess the correct year, it counts as five extra points. Now flip over the card to reveal the answer. If a team was successful, they move their piece forward the same number of spaces that they bet (plus the side bet if they got it right). If a team bet on the wrong side, however, they move backwards the same amount. For extra strategy and venom, every team is given a secret Time Token. At the beginning of the game, these tokens are dotted facedown around the board. These can be used to give a team a little boost, but some of them are traps. How do you know which is which? You have to land on them to find out! Once all the teams have moved, gather your betting chips, draw a new card and go again.

Bucket of Doom – Big Potato Games

    , ,
The Death-Dodging Party Game Ever wondered how you would escape if you were swallowed by a whale or buried alive in an airtight coffin… with only an angry beaver and a foot-long hot dog to help you? Well, we’ve got something special for you. A delightfully dark party game known as Bucket of Doom. The game begins with a single scenario card. These cards describe a wealth of troublesome scenarios, such as “You wake up and you’re the back-end of a human centipede” or “You’re a sperm and you’re not winning this race”. Upon reading out the scenario, you are all (unfortunately) placed into peril. Each player has eight object cards at their disposal. The challenging part, however, is that these objects tend be as useless as possible, such as a “Duck Whistle” or a “Valentine’s Card for someone called Ian”. Armed with your arsenal of impractical objects, you must devise a cunning plan to escape the scenario at hand. Since the round ends with a vote for the most impressive getaway, you’ll need to get creative if you hope to come out on top. The perfect preparation for unexpected emergencies, Bucket of Doom is a constant reminder that when the s**t hits the fan, you need a plan.

Blockbuster: The Movie Party Game – Big Potato Games

    , ,
Bring home the entertainment again! Blockbuster is a movie game for anyone who has seen a movie. And like all the best films it comes in two parts: In the Movie Buzzer Battle, both teams are given a topic, such as “Movies with dogs”. You start the 15s timer, yell out a relevant movie then whack the buzzer to reset the time. The other team is now in the hot seat and has to do the same. Whoever runs out of time hands the advantage to the other team, who take control of the next round: Triple Charades Jeopardy. In Triple Charades Jeopardy, your team has to guess the movie, while you act it, use one word or quote from it. This is where the strategy and the venom in the game comes in. The winner of Round One gets the pick of the six movies, keeps the three easiest and passes the hardest three to the other team. They then tactically place their movie cards face down, one on Act It, one on One Word and one on Quote It. Collect as many Movie Cards in Round 2 as you can. Get your three movies correct and you can move onto the other team’s movies. The first team to finally collect a movie in all 8 genres, wins.

Choose a word that’s too vague and people might start thinking that you’re the guilty one. Players will need to use all their cunning, team work and witch-hunting skills if they want to succeed. If you’re the Chameleon, however, the rules are much more simple. Don’t. Get. Caught.

Scrawl Drawing Party Game – Big Potato Games

    , ,
Scrawl: The Drawing Party Game of Weird Doodles and Godawful Guesses Everyone has a weird mind. You. Your friends. Your friend's friends. The list goes on. Luckily, there are a wealth of  party games that can help you channel that odd humour you crave so badly - and we've just added another one to the list. It's called Scrawl and it's a game about doodling your way to disaster. Unlike most party games, this is one where you'll create your own bizarre content. You just get a nudge in the right direction - in the form of snail jockeys, bum chins and foam parties. How do you play? Each player starts with a clipboard, a stack of whiteboard paper and a very questionable Scenario Card ('Freezing your own head', for example). Everyone then has to do their best at illustrating their scenario before passing it over to the player on their left. This player, having no idea what the original scenario was, clips another page over it and attempts to describe the picture underneath. The clipboards are then passed along once more, with the next player attempting to illustrate the new description in front of them. This continues until each of the clipboards have been returned to their original owners. Once the contents of the clipboards are displayed for all to see, players vote for their favourites in a run.

Weird Things Humans Search For Game (Mini UK Version) – Big Potato Games

    ,
A mini version of the amazingly brilliant, award-winning party game, Weird Things Humans Search For... First things first, choose a player to be the Search Master for the game. They’ll be acting like a normal quiz master, reading out the questions and keeping score. Everyone else, split into teams of two or three and grab a pencil and some paper. The Search Master begins by reading out the first half of a popular internet search, like: “Why do I have so much…” Each team must now try and guess the most popular ending to the internet search. Teams get to write down two guesses: one main guess and one bonus guess. When all the teams have decided on their final answers, the Search Master reads out the list of searches, starting with the most popular one. Then it’s time to count up the points. Your main answer is the one you want to be extra sure about. If it’s the first search on the list, you score four points. If it’s second you score three points, then two if it’s anywhere else. If your bonus answer appears on the list, you get one point – no matter where it is. When you’re done, grab a new Search Card and go again. After five rounds, the team with the most points, wins!

Colour Brain Game (Mini Version) – Big Potato Games

    , ,
Welcome to the quiz with two twists: Firstly, all the answers are colours. Secondly, we give you all the answers before you start! With 11 colour cards in your hand, all you have to do is work out which cards to play to answer the 120 brand new questions we've written for you. Get ready to think in colour in this mini-version of Colour Brain! To start, deal out 11 Colour Cards to each player: red, blue, yellow, black, white, brown, grey, purple, orange, green and pink. Each round, you’ll face a question that can be answered by one (or more) of the Colour Cards in your hand. Decide which to put down, then place them in front of you (face down). When you’re all ready, flip them over! Turn over the Question Card and reveal the correct colours. You only score points if at least one of the other teams got the answer wrong. So, if everyone gets it wrong, no one scores anything – but if everyone gets it right, no one scores anything either! In our example, two players got it wrong, so the player that got it right scores two points. If you notice someone getting a bit too far ahead, then don’t worry. Each player has a Colour Capture Card to use once in the game. Play this before a new question to steal a bunch of Colour Cards from their hand (for one round only). Keep turning over new questions until a player scores 10 points and wins the game!
