The backbone of the Soviet Union’s military might was its vast abundance of manpower, enabling the desperate defences and grand offensives that raged across the Eastern Front, and Bolt Action tables.
This box contains 30 infantry models in ‘summer’ uniforms, allowing you to build a huge variety of Soviet units. On each sprue, you’ll find a wide range of weaponry, including Mosin-Nagant rifles and carbines, DPM light machine guns, a PRTD anti-tank rifle, and of course lots of submachine guns, just to name a few. There’s also a captured German Panzerfaust, a scoped sniper’s rifle, and plenty of extra pieces such as megaphones, camouflage capes, and even a ‘liberated’ chicken to allow you to build even more units from this kit, and add character to your force. Even a dog is included, for all of your canine needs! A full set of heads in helmets and another in NKVD caps gives you yet more options – this kit really can do it all!

This box gives you everything you need to support your winter-themed British and Canadian troops with a Heavy Weapons Platoon - two medium machine guns lay down direct fire, while a medium mortar team brings destruction from on high, plus a Platoon Commander to lead them!

Rain fire from the skies with the mighty Katyusha!
A simple and very Soviet concept, the name ‘Katyusha’ refers to a long series of truck-mounted multiple rocket launcher systems, designed to provide a massive barrage against a target, then quickly reposition and strike again to avoid counterbattery fire. A wide variety of rocket sizes and trucks would be used, with one of the most common being the BM-13 launcher mounted on Lend-Lease Studebaker trucks.
On the Bolt Action tabletop, the Katyusha sports a powerful Multiple Rocket Launcher, a weapon which requires both skill and luck to employ, but has absolutely devastating potential to cause damage. It’s a great piece of low-cost self-propelled artillery, and no Soviet Armoured Platoon is complete without at least one!

The Soviet Union made good use of medium-calibre mortars to support their infantry, with the 82mm M-37 and M-41 types being the most common. These were very similar to those used around the world, the basic design being simple and almost foolproof.
A vital part of Heavy Weapons Platoons in Bolt Action, medium mortars provide commanders with the ability to arc indirect fire over the heads of their troops, and crucially ignore cover when they hit their targets. Ranging in on the enemy, directed by spotters, medium mortars can control huge areas of the battlefield when well-used.

Soviet junior officers needed to be aggressive, competent, and above all brave, as they led their men in defence and attack, regardless of danger. They would not do this alone, however, as many specialists would often accompany officers in battle, to accomplish a variety of different tasks.
Leadership is absolutely essential in Bolt Action, with the platoon system meaning you’ll always be in need of good officers! You get two in this set, along with an always-useful Medic, plus a radio operator – perfect for serving as a Forward Observer or as a Spotter for one of your indirect-fire weapons.
