Wednesday: Creatures and Outcasts (Card Game)
When you inadvertently end up in the Nightshade Library, your uncontrollable curiosity drives you towards the many books in the enormous bookcases that surround you. Your attention is drawn to book after book as you scan the pages about different kinds of outcasts and creatures. But then, suddenly, a small book catches your eye. Its title: “Rulebook, Creatures and Outcasts”. When you carefully slide the book towards you from the dusty bookcase, cards fall out. It appears to be an ancient card game about mythical creatures and outcasts. You quickly open the rulebook and begin to read…
In Wednesday: Creatures & Outcasts, 2-6 players play cards on a stack. Each card played needs to be higher than the previous one, and all cards left in your hand when the round ends count as penalty points. Outsmart your opponents by getting rid of the cards you hold as quickly as possible. Should you wait for the right moment to play your highest cards, or take a risk and face major consequences? Stay alert because well-known characters from Wednesday will keep you on your toes. After all, what is a game without some unexpected twists?
After five rounds, the player with the best score wins.

Coup – Card Game
Card & Dice Games

Card & Dice GamesYou are head of a family in an Italian city-state, a city run by a weak and corrupt court. You need to manipulate, bluff and bribe your way to power. Your object is to destroy the influence of all the other families, forcing them into exile. Only one family will survive. In Coup, you want to be the last player with influence in the game, with influence being represented by face-down character cards in your playing area. Each player starts the game with two coins and two influence – i.e. two face-down character cards; the fifteen card deck consists of three copies of five different characters, each with a distinct set of powers. When you take one of the character actions – whether actively on your turn, or defensively in response to someone else's action – that character's action automatically succeeds unless an opponent challenges you. In this case, if you can't (or don't) reveal the appropriate character, you lose an influence, turning one of your characters face-up. Face-up characters cannot be used, and if both of your characters are face-up, you're out of the game. If you do have the character in question and choose to reveal it, the opponent loses an influence, then you shuffle that character into the deck and draw a new one, perhaps getting the same character again and perhaps not. The last player to still have influence - that is, a face-down character - wins the game.£16.99Original price was: £16.99.£13.50Current price is: £13.50. -

Board Games, Card & Dice GamesEscape the Dark Castle is a casual, cooperative adventure game with a focus on atmosphere, player cooperation, and fun. Designed with newcomers to tabletop gaming in mind, it takes 2 minutes to set up, lasts around 30 minutes, and no two games are ever the same. 1-4 players take the roles of prisoners on a quest to Escape the Dark Castle, and must work together to overcome its many horrors, traps, and challenges - each of which is represented by a large, beautifully illustrated chapter card. As these immersive chapter cards are revealed one by one, the game takes on the form of a shared storybook experience, with the players making decisions about what to do each chapter before using a combination of dice and item cards to complete challenges. The goal of the game is for the group to complete every chapter in the 15-card castle deck, and then defeat the final boss. To win, they must keep every member of the team alive - if any player is killed the game ends immediately and all players lose. Escape the Dark Castle is largely inspired by 80s fantasy classics like the TV programme Knightmare, the Fighting Fantasy gamebook series, Dungeons & Dragons, and Heroquest. > Read our Escape The Dark Castle Game Review£34.99Original price was: £34.99.£28.50Current price is: £28.50. -
