Black Powder American Civil War Infantry Regiment Firing Line
Black Powder American Civil War Infantry Regiment Firing Line

Black Powder: American Civil War – Infantry Regiment Firing Line

    , ,
In many civil wars in history, both sides were equipped in a very similar fashion with the colour of their uniforms and the flags they fought under being the identifying features. This was no different for the forces of the Union and the Confederacy in the American Civil War, and these miniatures, presenting their arms at firing line, are equally suited to be painted as either a Union or Confederate regiment. Wearing dark blue tunics, light blue trousers and armed with percussion rifles, the Union soldiers learnt how to manoeuvre and march great distances to take the war to the south. Early regiments were of mixed quality with few having drilled before, let alone seen active service of any note. By the war’s end they were a tough and efficient fighting body of men, a match for their adversary, ‘Johnny Reb’. Confederate regiments were tough, with many in their ranks used to privation and familiar with firearms. This was just as well, as compared to their northern foes in the Union they were frequently poorly equipped, fed and armed – much of their equipment was taken from Federal prisoners or privately purchased. The better maintained troops favoured the Enfield muzzle-loading rifles if available, but many types of rifles were used during the war, even old flintlocks in reserve units. Ragtag they may look, but southern troops had a spring in their step and were renowned for their quick and terrifying charges, many emitting the unearthly, ululating ‘Rebel Yell’ to unnerve their ‘blue belly’ opponents. Box contains 24 Warlord resin figures (including command group), plastic bases, MDF Snake Fence scenery, cap badge decal sheet and full-colour flag sheets for both Union and Confederate troops.

Bolt Action Polish Army Weapons Teams
Bolt Action Polish Army Weapons Teams

Bolt Action: Polish Army Weapons Teams

    , ,
Infantry weapons teams are a key component of any Bolt Action army, providing as they do great tactical flexibility for your force. Sniper teams, light mortar teams and anti-tank rifle teams are among the most prevalent, presenting your opponent with multiple challenges to overcome. Like many other nations, Poland learned well the lessons of World War I, and saw the value in close-support mortar weaponry. Many infantry companies were issued 46mm light mortars to fulfil this close support role. The Polish Army didn’t include specially equipped snipers as such, but the best shots in a company would be designated as marksmen. The Polish wz.35 anti-tank rifle was unusual in that it did not fire a solid tungsten core round as did most other nations’ anti-tank rifles. Rather, it fired a standard lead core with a steel jacket. Instead of penetrating the hull like traditional anti-tank rounds, the transferred energy would cause spalling (making a piece of armour tear off inside the crew compartment) that lead to fragments ricocheting around the inside of the vehicle – a very nasty affair for the crew! Contains three Bolt Action Order Dice and the following Warlord Resin Plus figures:
    • 2-man Light Mortar team
    • 2-man Sniper team
    • 2-man Anti-tank rifle team

Black Powder Epic Battles: American Civil War Guts & Glory Starter Set

    , ,
In 1861, the Southern States saw Abraham Lincoln’s election to President of the fledgling United States of America as a direct threat to their states' rights and way of life. Bolt Action German Infantry (Winter)
Warlord Bolt Action German Winter Infantry

    Bolt Action: German Infantry (Winter)

    , ,
Adolf Hitler’s aggressive campaigns across the world ensured his troops would face the enemy in all environments and climates. None were more unforgiving than the harsh winters on the Eastern Front or in the Italian hills and mountains. The resourceful German landser (common soldiers) often had to make do with little more than their standard issue woollen greatcoat, gloves, scarves and a steely determination to not only stave off the cold, but also be able to fight and win. These highly detailed plastic figures are ideal to represent German Infantry (Winter) – be they Heer or Waffen-SS – facing the enemy in cold weather or in the very depths of the bitter winter snows. Weapons, equipment and headgear options allow you to build the figures for all periods of the war from the Blitzkrieg operations of 1939 and 1940 right through to the death throes of the Third Reich in Berlin during 1945. Contents:
    • 30 German infantry figures in greatcoats. Includes options for different weapon configurations and command models.

Black Powder: American Civil War – Glory Hallelujah! Supplement Book

    , ,
‘Glory Hallelujah!’ – the American Civil War 1861–1865 supplement for Black Powder. In 1860 Abraham Lincoln was elected President of the fledgling United States of America. Years of seething hostility between the North and South boiled over as the Southern States saw Lincoln’s election as a direct threat to their rights, and the nation fell apart as a new Confederacy was formed in the South. The Confederacy, striving to assert its independence, opened fire on the Northern troops occupying Fort Sumter in Charleston Harbour on April 12th 1861. Determined to preserve the Union, Northern troops headed south and on to Richmond! Over the next four terrible long years American armies tramped across American fields and burnt American farms as Americans killed Americans in a war the likes of which the nation had never seen before. The epic battles fought during the American Civil War proved beyond all doubt that war can be ‘all hell’. This supplement for Black Powder describes the history, armies, key leaders, doctrine and tactics of the American Civil War, and includes a comprehensive set of army lists and optional rules for recreating the battles of that war in miniature.

Bolt Action: Germany Fallschirmjäger Weapons Teams

    , ,
Infantry weapons teams are a key component of any Bolt Action army, providing as they do great tactical flexibility for your force. Sniper teams, anti-tank teams and flamethrower teams are among the most prevalent, presenting your opponent with multiple challenges to overcome. The Panzerschreck was a German development of the American bazooka, first encountered in North Africa, firing a large calibre shaped-charge rocket projectile. The back-blast from the weapon was so intense that early teams wore protective capes and masks – later a blast shield was fitted to the weapon giving it a distinctive appearance. The Panzerschreck and disposable anti-tank Panzerfaust had replaced the Panzerbüchse 39 anti-tank rifle by 1944. During the battle of Stalingrad, Russian snipers took such a heavy toll upon the beleaguered Wehrmacht that the Germans began to train and equip their own marksmen to undertake a specialist role as snipers. A variety of rifles were used for sniping, including the standard KAR-98K and the semi-automatic Gewehr 43, all fitted with the high quality ZF39 telescopic sight, and equipped with precision-manufactured ammunition. Flamethrowers – Flammenwerfer – were used through the war and were often employed against buildings or fortifications. During the latter part of the war, the Germans produced a lighter, smaller design that carried enough fuel for a single burst – effectively a one-shot flamethrower –the Eintossflammenwerfe. It is not known, however, whether this weapon was actually ever employed. Box contains:
    • Six Warlord Resin Figures
    • Plastic Bases

Bolt Action Char B1 Bis Tank

Bolt Action: Char B1 Bis Tank

    , ,
Upgrading the Char B1, the Char B1 bis had thicker armour and an APX4 turret with a longer-barrelled (L/32) 47 mm SA 35 gun, giving it more anti-tank capacity alongside the 75mm hull-mounted howitzer. French experiences during The Great War influenced their belief a breakthrough tank would be needed in future conflicts, hence the design of the heavy Char B1 and B1 bis. This kit allows you to build French or German gun tanks or as one of two versions of German flammpanzers, it contains:
    • A French/German Char B1 bis tank
    • Bolt Action stat cards
    • Full-colour waterslide decal sheet
    • Vehicle damage markers
Among the most powerful tanks at the time, the Char B1 bis was very effective against German Panzers in 1940 during the Battle of France. However, slow speed and high fuel consumption made it ill-adapted to the more fluid style of warfare being fought at that time. With the fall of France, the victorious German military captured 161 Char B1 bis tanks and repurposed them under the nomenclature Panzerkampfwagen B-2 740 (f). Several were also converted into flame-throwing tanks.

    , ,
Go everywhere, and support your troops with the US Army Jeep Platoon! In June 1940 the American army asked for a lightweight utility vehicle that could go anywhere and everywhere. In many cases, they would be armed with either a .30cal or .50cal machine gun, allowing them to provide mobile fire support to US troops. This set gives you a trio of armed jeeps for your US forces - two with .30cal Medium Machine Guns, and one with a .50cal Heavy Machine Gun - allowing you to form an Armoured Platoon of these lightweight fighting vehicles. Perfect for providing mobile anti-infantry fire support at a low points cost, these jeeps instantly give any US force an exciting new dimension on the Bolt Action tabletop! Bolt Action German Flak 37 8.8cm

Bolt Action: German Flak 37 8.8cm

    , ,
Originally developed as an anti-aircraft weapon, the Flak 37 8.8cm (or Eighty-eight as it became known by Allied troops) had a high muzzle velocity to allow it to reach the higher ranges modern bombers were capable of at the time. This would make it an exceptionally deadly anti-tank weapon as many Allied tank crews would learn to their peril. The 88 could also be deployed as a conventional artillery piece – as one infantryman noted, the 88 was 'anti-everything'... Capable of firing in extremis whilst still attached to its wheeled carriages (although with limited traverse or elevation), the 88 could be fully deployed onto its cruciform firing platform and ready to fire in around two and a half minutes. Many 88s were fitted with a large gunshield although there were many examples of this being dispensed with. Being such a large and heavy weapon it could only be towed by larger prime movers such as the Sd.Kfz 7 halftrack. This Flak 37 kit is supplied with 8.8cm shells and shell cases and can be built to both traverse and elevate - neither enemy armour nor aircraft will be safe! Contents:
    • One 1/56 scale hard plastic WWII 8.8cm Flak 37 dual-purpose AA/AT gun
    • 7 metal German Army crew
    • Bolt Action stat card

Black Powder: Vive l’Empereur! (French Peninsular Veterans)

    , ,
Murdering their way out of a Spanish prison hulk, Chef de battalion François Léon de Rochebaron and his loyal band of followers began their journey into infamy. After the brutal experience at the hands of his Spanish captors, the once honourable de Rochebaron swore unwavering vengeance on the enemies of France. Thus the legend of the 'The Butchers' of the 73rd Line Regiment was born. In battle, no quarter was ever given as they became the scourge of the Spanish peninsular. It was only when les Bouchers met an English battalion at Grijo in 1809 did they finally meet men who could match their ignoble method of waging war. During the battle, De Rochebaron fought a bloody and protracted duel with an English Captain, matched in its viciousness by the scrap at their feet between his beloved poodle, Fifi and the British mongrel, Duchess. While all combatants survived this encounter, they swore to meet again and settle the matter. Cast in the finest Warlord Resin, these superb miniatures are dripping with character – from the vengeful, Rochebaron down to the regiment's mascot, Fifi the poodle.

Black Powder: O’er the Hills and Far Away (British Peninsular Veterans)

    , ,
The 3rd Battalion of Detachments, struck from all official records, exemplified Brigadier General Alan Campbell’s view, “I have collected several detachments of recovered men belonging to Sir J. Moore’s army, whom I found scattered in all directions, without necessaries, and some of them committing every possible excess that could render the name of a British soldier odious to the nation.” During the Douro campaign and capture of the city of Oporto in 1809, the 3rd Battalion had its first taste of action near the village of Grijo. There they crossed bayonets with the infamous French regiment, les Bouchers (the Butchers). The bloody encounter was also notable for the savage dog fight between Duchess, the 3rd’s bull terrier mascot, and the French poodle, Fifi, both animals leaving their mark. These exceptional miniatures are oozing character and cast in finest Warlord Resin are a must for any self-respecting (and those not quite so self-respecting) Napoleonic British wargamer.

    ABC Warriors: Mongrol & Robo-Paratrooper – 2000AD Miniatures Game

    ,
An ABC robo paratrooper leader, Mongrol was the lone survivor of a botched drop over Vilnius in Volga. After the battle, his head was salvaged by Lara, the daughter of rebel robotsmiths, and he was rebuilt using a mishmash of robot parts. However, Lara was killed by the Volgans before she could fully activate him. During torture by Volkhan, Mongrol was inadvertently reactivated, but reduced to an almost bestial state. His infamous battle cry “Mongrol Smush!” is a prelude to a devastating assault with his massive power paws. Contains two Warlord Resin ABC Warriors miniatures: Mongrol and a Robo-paratrooper, plastic bases, character card and auxiliary card. NB: Models supplied unassembled and unpainted

Bolt Action: Tiger I Ausf. E Heavy Tank

    , ,
Amongst the most feared tanks in the Second World War, the mere mention of the name 'Tiger' was enough to cause panic amongst Allied armoured formations. The Tiger was hurried into action on the Russian front as a response to the heavier Soviet tanks that had caught the Wehrmacht unawares. Its massive square body and rounded turret was an intimidating sight to enemy tankers. The armour was tremendously thick and made of quality steel, making it largely invulnerable, at least frontally, to anti-tank fire. Its potent 88mm gun was a deadly weapon, effective against enemy tanks up to three kilometres and also firing a lethal high explosive shell. This vehicle can also be used in games of Achtung Panzer!, the game of close-quarters tank-on-tank combat. Its rules can be found in the Achtung Panzer! rulebook.

Bolt Action: D-Day British & Canadian Sectors Theatre Book (Softback)

    , ,
This campaign book focuses on some of the key clashes fought in Normandy in the summer of 1944 as British, Canadian, Polish, and other Allied forces engaged in desperate battles against a dedicated and determined German opposition. As well as summarising the history, this book also details a number of scenarios inspired by the engagements within the Normandy campaign, and the special rules required to play them. This book tells the story of the British and Canadian contribution to this monumental task, and the stoic German resistance they faced. It guides Bolt Action players from the latter stages of D-Day, beginning with the fierce fighting in the coastal towns off the beaches at Gold, Juno and Sword, through the violent clashes around the strategically vital city of Caen, and to the march against Germany itself. Inside, you’ll find thirteen diverse scenarios, covering the action from the first pushes inland, to the dramatic climax of the campaign in the British & Canadian sectors during Operation Tractable.  We’ve also included army lists for four of the campaign’s most important forces – the Canadian Army, the battle-hardened Commandos, the fanatical 12th SS Panzer Division ‘Hitlerjugend’, and the Luftwaffe Field Division. These new army lists add a whole new dimension of play, allowing you to create themed forces for your campaigns in Normandy! Also included is a whole stable of new special characters, including the VC-winning medic Corporal Frederick Topham, who put life and limb on the line to rescue wounded men, and the fanatical Kurt ‘Panzer’ Meyer, who earned his Iron Cross leading the Liebstandarte division’s reconnaissance battalion in Russia. These special characters are the perfect opportunity to theme your force further and make for amazing conversion opportunities.

The classic infantry support weapon. As with most armies of the period the Poles adopted the 81mm medium mortar. Capable of laying down a rain of shells in short time, this is the weapon you want to either smother the foe with firepower or to break up any assault on your position. The mortars were normally grouped together with the heavy machine gun company of the Battalion.
