    Konflikt '47 Soviet Ursus Infantry

    Konflikt ’47: Soviet Ursus Infantry

    , ,
The Soviets developed a weapon utilising Ursine DNA to create an 8ft tall man/bear hybrid that could go toe-to toe with any enhanced infantry on the battlefields of 1947. Powerful, but lacking control, the Ursus soldiers were often unleashed in highly contested areas of the battlefield to tip the balance of favour towards the Soviet army. The Ursus are nearly unbeatable in combat, both tough and strong, they'll be able to hack down any enemy troops foolish enough to stand in their way. Give them supporting fire so they can advance unhindered or use a transport (a standard truck can carry 5 Ursus infantry) as an ideal way of getting this death squad in amongst the enemy front line. Let havoc ensue!

Konflikt ’47: Soviet Siberian Terror Squad

    , ,
Through a combination of espionage, scientific exploitation of prisoners, and defecting scientists, the Soviet Union gained substantial knowledge of the German super-soldier and genesplicing programmes and produced its own versions of DNA enhanced soldiers. In an effort to make soldiers immune to the cold, a method of making monsters out of men was discovered. With a form of anti-freeze in their veins, these ‘ghouls’ are immune to cold and fire and have a freezing touch that can cause immediate damage. These fast fanatical nightmarish creatures can cause havoc in amongst your enemies lines, move up fast (don't worry about flame weapons as they're immune) to take advantage of their combat prowess!

Konflikt ’47: Allied Coyote / Guardian Light Walker

    , ,
One of the original US walker designs, the Coyote bridges the gap between infantry heavy armour technology and larger walkers. Compact and mobile, and carrying a decent anti-infantry armament, these one-man vehicles are frequently used by US and Commonwealth troops in urban fighting. The Commonwealth Guardian variant is particularly specialised for this purpose, carrying a lethal flamethrower for use against dug-in enemies.

Konflikt ’47: Allied M8 Grizzly Medium Walker

    , ,
M8 Grizzly Medium Assault Walker the first truly practical walker designed using Rift technology; the Grizzly is a watchword in rugged and practical design. Armed with the proven 75mm gun and a .50 HMG, the Grizzly is versatile and adaptable. More useful are perhaps the powerful arms that can smash tanks and clear obstacles. Well-liked by its crews, the Grizzly is considered a better infantry support option than the Sherman, particularly in urban environments where it can carry out improvised route clearance and help build defensive obstacles. The 75mm gun was chosen ahead of the 76mm for its improved HE round, often the most heavily used ammunition in an engagement. Used by American and British forces the Grizzly is a perfect addition to all allied forces!

Konflikt ’47: United States M8A3 Tesla Scout

    , ,
When the scientists leading the Rift-tech Tesla weapons programme offered the US military a lighter and smaller version of the Tesla cannon that had been so successful on the Sherman chassis, the military leapt at the opportunity. The addition of the Tesla cannon on the M8 gave recce units more firepower and an increased versatility against infantry whilst maintaining enough anti-tank capability to threaten their Axis counterparts such as the Spinne and Puma. The lack of recoil in the Tesla Scout system meant very little work was needed on the chassis, although the weight of the batteries has shortened the lifespan of the vehicle’s suspension and gearbox; a worthwhile sacrifice from the crew’s perspective.

Konflikt ’47: Chi-Ha Medium Tank with Compression Turret

    , ,
The advent of Rift-technology has allowed Japan to close the gap in some areas. Although increasing industrial capacity hasn’t been easy, the study of the Rift messages provided by Germany has allowed Japan to create a family of rapid firing compression weapons. This box contains:
    • 1 plastic, resin & metal Japanese Type 97 Chi-Ha medium tank suitable for Konflikt ‘47 Japanese Army
    • Full-colour waterslide decal sheet
    • A detailed construction leaflet
As Japan’s Rift-tech scientists developed the first of these cannons, the Chi-Ha chassis with the larger Shinhoto turret was used as a test bed for the earliest weapon trials, which in turn led to a compression cannon-armed variant entering service in late 1946. Equipped with either a 47mm anti-tank gun or the rapid firing light compression cannon the Type 97 Chi-Ha has proved capable of competing against heavier Allied tanks.

The Soviets recognised the versatility of the German Spinne walker and were able to reverse engineer much of the technology from captured examples. Using biped technology stolen from the US, they were able to produce the Cossack. Fast and agile it is an excellent recce vehicle. It excels in the open and often difficult ground that covers much of Eastern Europe. Deployed as a fast flanking unit, the Cossack with its Walker, Agile, and Recce special rules is ideal for hit and run distraction before your Ursus or other assault units enter the fray!

Though nearly decimated in courageous actions in Afrika, the Mediterranean, Italy, Northern Europe and Russia their early success have not been forgotten! Now they are seen again across the battlefields of 1947; re-fitted with state-of-the-art Falcon armour, it is far more agile than its predecessor shaping more to the Fallschirmjagers needs. More expensive to produce but far more valuable with its effectiveness and more popular with the troops that use it. Quick and resilient, these troops are ideal objective grabbers and shock-troops. With the ability to keep up with. and even outpace, most vehicles. Without the hindrance of terrain you can guarantee they can get to their target double-time. The Tesla cannon being deployed on a Sherman chassis, research continued into miniaturising and enhancing he clearly potent technology – in particular the size of the power packs needed to generate sufficient charge. Infantry versions were workable for far lower power weapons, but a breakthrough in January 1947 resulted in the first practical trials of lighter, towed weapon systems. By June 1947, a towed Tesla anti-tank gun was deployed in combat. The bulk of these weapons have been deployed to Armoured infantry formations.

Konflikt ’47: British Commonwealth Automated Carrier

    , ,
As British research and development continue in the embryonic fields of automation and automotive intelligence, the combination of automated control units and armoured vehicles is a logical progression. With no requirement for crew comfort and with a greater tolerance to shock, noise and impact, an automated vehicle offers the opportunity to place larger weapon systems on relatively small, agile and hard to hit platforms. The initial trials proved largely successful, with the combat potential of these vehicles deemed worth the occasional processing glitches and failures. With trials completed, the deployment of large numbers of automated carriers is the first large-scale field test of this concept. Using the ubiquitous universal carrier as a base, two automated infantry units are hardwired into the vehicle, one as a driver and the other as a gunner. With any redundant limbs or body parts removed, the AI units take little space which allows a mounting of a twin auto-cannon weapon system. This firepower would be unworkable with a human crew due to the recoil, noise levels and cramped crew space, but works with automated crew perfectly.

Konflikt ’47: Tesla AT Gun (British Army Crew)

    , ,
The directed energy weapons conceived and developed by Nikola Tesla have had an immediate impact on the battlefield. Even heavily-armoured vehicles are vulnerable to electricity and with a dispersion setting, squads of infantry can be attacked just as easily. Whilst relatively short ranged and bulky, they are effective against both vehicles and infantry, which makes them popular with the tank crews that use them. Tactically the glow of the Tesla Cannon’s coils makes ambushes and fighting at night difficult, but the psychological effect of the electrical arcs on enemy soldiers is worth the side effects.

    Konflikt ’47: British Commonwealth Grenadiers

    , ,
In order to test new equipment and technology coming from the UK’s Rift-tech labs and workshops, the 7th Bn Grenadier Guards were seconded to the Rift Research Department in order to provide troops to trial new equipment and technology. Once initial trials were completed, platoons of the Battalion would deploy forward to test the equipment on the front line, often to the benefit of the infantry they were supporting, but occasionally proving a project a disappointing failure. Over the past two years, the Battalion has developed a greater understanding of the weaponry at its disposal and is now considered an elite shock unit as much as an R&D unit. This, of course, fits nicely with the role the Grenadiers and the Guards Division has played in the British Army’s history. Although technically still part of the Guard’s Division, the unit is often referred to as The Grenadiers, or more recently, the Rift Grenadiers. Contains 10 miniatures.
