With the Soviet navy largely bottled up in harbour, many sailors were pressed into service as frontline infantrymen, often still dressed in their black naval uniform with its distinctive cap and striped telnyashka undershirt. A number of specialised naval infantry units were formed: forty brigades and five regiments. They won a reputation for tenacity and daring both in defensive fighting and in coastal landing operations on the Baltic and Black Seas. With their previous military experience and strong esprit de corps, they were some of the best troops available to Soviet commanders. This is also true on the Bolt Action tabletop, with Naval Brigade units a part of the Hammer & Sickle army special rules, bringing the ever-useful Tough Fighters rule. Bolt Action Japanese Type 91 So-Mo Armoured Car

Bolt Action: Japanese Type 91 So-Mo Armoured Car

    , ,
Also referred to as the Type 91 broad-gauge railroad tractor, the So-Mo has the unusual distinction of being able to quickly switch from road to rail. The So-Mo could achieve speeds of around 25 miles per hour on roads and almost twice that on railroads. Fielded by both the Imperial Japanese Army and the SNLF during World War II, the six-wheel-drive So-Mo also served in the 1937 Japanese invasion of China. The vehicle did not have integral weapons, but the crew often carried a 7.7mm machine gun that was fired through the observation ports in the turret. Despite its light LMG armament, the So-Mo provides a relatively inexpensive armoured car for a Japanese force, which has the dual benefit of being able to transport six infantrymen across the battlefield. It is particularly useful if the battlefield contains any railroads! Box contains one resin & metal Type 91 So-Mo Armoured Car in its road configuration, decal sheet, and vehicle damage markers.

Konflikt 47 Guardian Light Walker British Commonwealth

Konflikt ’47: Guardian Light Walker (British Commonwealth)

    , ,
After a personal request from Churchill to Roosevelt a number of Coyote light walkers were shipped to the United Kingdom in late 1946.Many were immediately deployed to the frontlines unmodified as the Guardian Mark I. While generally proving successful, reports from the field concluded that the Guardian's armament was lacking for its intended role as an infantry support vehicle. To address this a flamethrower was mounted in the walker’s left arm. Despite the added weight, performance was not affected. Named the Guardian Mark II in Commonwealth service, these machines serve alongside unmodified Guardian Mark Is, forming the bulk of the Commonwealth’s light walker forces. Contains one resin and metal miniature.

Konflikt ’47: British Commonwealth Cerberus Squad 1

    , ,
When the Totenkorps first arose on the battlefields of France in 1944 panic and terror gripped Commonwealth forces. Every advance became a nightmare. Any village, field, or wood could contain the corpses of the living dead. They might wait patiently until the frontline passed overthem so they could rise and strike at the vulnerable rear areas, or they might simply rend anything that came close. Commonwealth soldiers found that dogs could quickly sniff out the danger, but were driven so mad with terror they couldn't be relied upon. The controversial scientist Dr William Sargant championed the creation of Cerberus units, dogs surgically and chemically altered to suppress their fear instincts. Cerberus units are viewed as something of a mixed blessing, with some regiments adamantly refusing to deploy them. Contains one metal handler and three metal war dogs.

Konflikt ’47: Inago Medium Walker (Empire of Japan)

    , ,
The deployment of USMC Grizzly medium walkers to the Pacific posed a serious tactical problem for the Japanese. Developing a similar medium walker to counter it entirely from scratch would be too time-consuming. Again, the Imperial leadership turned to their (then) Axis allies who offered to export a limited number of the Pz.Kpfg. VII Heuschrecke stripped of its gravitic jump assist modules. On inspection of the first units to arrive in Japan the Imperial military discovered that the missing weight of the modules actually benefited the walker’s speed and agility, making it ideal for both general combat and reconnaissance duties. Recently, Japanese reverse-engineering of Axis-supplied components has allowed a fully Imperial-built version of the Locust, the ‘Inago’, to be produced in the Home islands. Contains one resin & metal miniature

Konflikt ’47: Mahmot Heavy Walker (Soviet Bloc)

    , ,
Despite the successes of the Kazak light walker, Soviet forces experienced significant losses from every encounter with Axis heavy Panzer walkers. A swift countermeasure was necessary. The OKMO design bureau at the Bolshevik Factory in Leningrad was assigned the task of developing Objekt 231., a heavy multi-legged walker chassis derived from the Axis' Thor. Rather than opting for the Axis' complex sixlegged designs or the Allies' technically challenging biped configurations, OKMO produced a more straightforward and reliable quadruped chassis. Originally conceived as a mobile bunker, the designers revisited a multi-turret concept from OKMO’s titanic 1930s T-35 tank. Contains one resin and metal miniature.

Konflikt 47 Merlin Heavy Walker British Commonwealth
Konflikt 47 Merlin Heavy Walker British Commonwealth

Konflikt ’47: Merlin Heavy Walker (British Commonwealth)

    , ,
The Merlin represents the pinnacle of Commonwealth walker design by complementing its human crews with an onboard automated management 'brain' called Guinevere. In addition to its two fists, the Merlin utilises a 3” anti-tank gun as its main weapon. Arm mounted twin .50cal heavy machine guns and a hull-mounted medium machine gun are effective for dealing with infantry and light vehicles. However, it is the Guinevere automatic brain that makes the Merlin unique. It assists the crew in performing routine and mundane tasks operating the walker, but in battle it really comes into its own. The Merlin incorporates several complex self-repair systems controlled by Guinevere. Reacting faster than any human, it responds to damaging hits by activating backup systems, rerouting power or hydraulics and extinguishing fires before they can spread. Should the crew become temporarily incapacitated Guinevere can even pilot the walker for a short time. The Merlin is a truly remarkable design that has taken Allied walker capabilities to a new level. Contains one resin and metal miniature.

Konflikt ’47: Guards MK II Armoured Infantry (Soviet Bloc)

    , ,
Although the early heavy infantry armour fielded by the Soviets was both effective and functional, it was clear there was room to improve the design. Initial trials to convert the existing design to a more anti-infantry role were of limited worth and a new suit was commissioned to take advantage of increased understanding of the other nations’ Rift-tech advances. The Mark II suits benefit from more power assisted movement, and engineers are working on diversifying the purpose built armaments for the suit. Overall production rates are not yet satisfactory so the MK II suit has only had only limited rollout to the elite Guards units. Contains 8 metal models
