The T-34 tank design is arguably the most important tank of all time with over 84,000 made and innovative design features. The T-34/76 first saw action in late 1941, and was a significant leap forward in tank design – a rugged, no-nonsense anatomy and wide tracks enabled it to cope with the mud and snow of the Eastern Front. It married the perfect combination of thick, sloped armour and an efficient gun, along with extreme sturdiness, reliability, ease of manufacturing and maintenance. German tanks struggled in the cold conditions of the Eastern Front – the rubber peeling away from the road wheels, engines being slow to start and needing to be slowly warmed-up, machine guns jamming constantly, and the narrow tracks of the Panzer III and IV causing them to sink into the snow and mud. The T-34s ran circles around the struggling German hardware – especially as the Luftwaffe was more often than not grounded due to the bad weather, so couldn't harry the Soviets. This kit allows you the option of assembling the tank as either the 1941, 1942, or 1943 pattern T-34/76 – each with their distinctive turrets. Box contains:

Epitomising what Hitler referred to as the 'Asiatic Hordes', the Siberians were battle-hardened from their service in the conflict against Japan in the east. Coming as a rude shock to the forces of the Third Reich, the veteran Siberian troops fell upon the over-extended German forces. They were used in mass assaults hurling themselves into the German lines fully prepared to fight in close quarters, wielding wicked knives and using their entrenching tools to terrible effect. Raised from the forces in the far east of the Soviet Union they were used to deprivation and hardship, and their stamina in the the deep, hostile snows in their homeland was a constant source of amazement to their foe. This boxed set contains a mixed force of Siberian troops led by a commissar exhorting his troops with the aid of a loudhailer, all eager to fight the German invaders for Stalin and holy Mother Russia! Siberian Veterans contains:

• Enough plastic and metal components to make 34 battle-hardened Soviet Union infantry miniatures. Includes a host of options to allow for different weapon configurations and command models.
• Weapons included: Maxim machine gun, Mosin-Nagant rifle (scoped, with bayonet and without), PTRD Anti-tank rifle, submachine guns (PPS-43-, PPSh-41 and PPD-40), Mosin-Nagant carbine, DP-28 light machine gun, Tokarev semi-automatic rifle (and bayonet version), pistols and rifle grenade launcher. Led by a typical Soviet officer, this fellow, and his submachine gun, will ensure discipline in the ranks. He also has a Sergeant with a PPsh and an anti-tank rifle team of two men, who's job was often sniping if there were no Germanski tanks to bother them.
