Bolt Action Sherman VC Firefly tank

    Bolt Action: Sherman V (M4A4)

    , ,
Supplied under the Lend-Lease programme to Great Britain, the M4A4 was renamed the Sherman V by its new owners. The Sherman V would be the mainstay of the British and Polish armoured units during the later years of the Second World War and was also used by the Free French. This was the most numerous British tank. Its only downside was a high silhouette, but the Sherman made up for this with its reliability, ruggedness and numbers. Armed with a 75mm gun it excelled at supporting infantry and suppressing enemy guns, and though later outgunned by German heavies, the Sherman still gave a good account of itself in rare armoured encounters. In games of Bolt Action the Sherman V is a medium tank armed with a medium anti-tank gun that benefits from the Improved HE special rule, a coaxial MMG, hull mounted MMG and optional pintle mounted HMG. It can be included in Armoured Platoons. NB: this model is of a British Sherman V but can also be used as an M4/A1/A2/A3/A4 in US service. Contains:
    • 1 Hard Plastic Sherman V tank
    • Assembly Guide
    • Bolt Action Stat Card
    • Decal Sheet
    • Vehicle Damage Markers
This vehicle can also be used in games of Achtung Panzer!, the game of close-quarters tank-on-tank combat, its rules can be found in the Achtung Panzer! rulebook.

    Bolt Action: Sherman VC Firefly

    , ,
Sherman Firefly was a British invention that mounted the powerful 17 pdr anti-tank gun on a Sherman hull. Making its debut on D-Day with one Firefly per troop, it soon became highly valued as the only British tank capable of defeating the Panther and Tiger tanks it faced in Normandy at standard combat ranges. In recognition of this, German tank and anti-tank gun crews were instructed to attack Fireflies first. Over 2,000 were made, and by late 1944 numbers had increased to two per troop. Often known as the 'Charlie' tanks in the field because of the 'c' denoting them as rearmed with the 17-pdr, the nickname 'Firefly' was unofficial and referred to the huge muzzle blast. As with all Warlord plastic vehicle kits, the Firefly comes with its own sheet of waterslide decals with a variety of unit markings, tank names, and other identifying markings to give your model that additional touch of realism when it takes to the tabletop battlefield! In games of Bolt Action the Sherman Firefly is a medium tank with a super-heavy anti-tank gun with a reduced HE charge. It can be included in any British armoured platoon. This vehicle can also be used in games of Achtung Panzer!, the game of close-quarters tank-on-tank combat, its rules can be found in the Achtung Panzer! rulebook.

Bolt Action M8/M20 Greyhound Scout Car
Bolt Action M8/M20 Greyhound Scout Car

Bolt Action: M8/M20 Greyhound Scout Car

    , ,
The M8 Greyhound was a popular and successful 6x6 armoured car that served American and British armies well throughout the war. Its crew of four served a 37mm gun, a co-axial .30 cal, with the more aggressive crews adding a .50 cal on the roof for anti aircraft and local defence. It was used by the US army in Italy, Northwest Europe and the Pacific -in the latter theatre its 37mm gun made it an effective tank destroyer, the role for which it was originally designed. Replacing the armoured turret for a fixed, open fighting compartment, the M20 scout car was used primarily as a command vehicle, sacrificing the turrets main gun in favour of extra radio capability. In games of Bolt Action both variants are armoured cars (DV 7+) that can be included in Armoured Platoons. The M8 has a light anti-tank gun, coxial MMG and option to add an HMG, the M20 has an HMG. Both vehicles benefit from the Recce special rule. Contains:
    • 1/56th scale hard plastic US M8 or M20 armoured car
    • Instruction leaflet
    • Waterslide decal sheet
This vehicle can also be used in games of Achtung Panzer!, the game of close-quarters tank-on-tank combat, its rules can be found in the Achtung Panzer! rulebook.

It has been said that mortars accounted for more casualties in World War II than any other single weapon type. Trained and effective Italian mortar crews certainly added to those numbers in every theatre where they operated. Like their Regio Esercito (Royal Italian Army) counterparts, the airborne divisions relied heavily on the Mortaio da 81/14 Modello 35 81mm mortar for this purpose.

Led by tough, experienced officers, the Italian paratroopers were a well-respected foe – during the battle of El Alamein troops of the Folgore (Lightning) Division repelled the British attacks for weeks. The Folgore fought until expending their last round of ammunition, taking out British tanks with near suicidal close quarters attacks and choosing bayonet charges over raising the white flag, such was their elan. Like their Regio Esercito (Royal Italian Army) counterparts, the airborne divisions relied heavily on the Breda 37 medium machine gun and the Mortaio da 81/14 Modello 35 81mm mortar for close fire support. Infantry weapons teams are a key component of any Bolt Action army, providing greater tactical flexibility for your force. Sniper teams, anti-tank teams and light mortar teams are among the most prevalent, presenting your opponent with multiple challenges to overcome. The Solothurn anti-tank rifle was a cross between a true anti-tank rifle and a light anti-tank gun. Featuring a light wheeled carriage and a magazine-feed, the Solothurn could achieve a rate of fire of up to 20 rounds per minute. The Italian army had no specialist sniper rifle, and the relatively light-weight Carcano Model 1891 with its small calibre bullet was not ideally suited to the role. However, in the hands of a skilled marksman the weapon would prove deadly enough. The Brixia 45mm light mortar was a powerful and successful weapon in the hands of properly trained soldiers. Its rate of fire was higher than similar weapons employed by other nations, and its accuracy was also unparalleled. Box contains:

Bolt Action: Carro Armato / Semovente Tank

    , ,
Produced by Fiat Ansaldo, the M13/40 was the main battle tank of the Italian army in World War II and served throughout the war following its introduction in 1940. Although designated as a medium tank it was more in line with the light tanks of other nations at the time. With armour up to 42mm thick, and armed with a 47mm main gun backed up by up to four 8mm machine guns, it carried a four-man crew. Its diesel engine, whilst underpowered, giving a top speed of around 20mph, was less vulnerable to catching fire and had better range than petrol-fuelled vehicles. The most widely produced Italian tank of the war, the M13/40 battled on in the Western Desert and Italy despite Allied tanks far eclipsing it in firepower, speed and protection. This superb plastic kit can alternatively be assembled as a Semovente tank. The Semovente 75/18 self-propelled gun brings some much needed armoured reinforcements to Italian forces. The Semovente was an Italian self-propelled gun, built by mounting the 75mm Obice da 75/18 modello 34 mountain gun on the chassis of a M13/40 or M14/41 tank. It had riveted steel plates, which were thicker but also less sloped than in the original tank. Frontal armour was almost vertical, but it consisted of two plates rather than a single layer, which improved stopping power. You may think these tanks may only be for Italian Bolt Action armies, but you’d be dead wrong. Captured examples of the M13 were used by the Australians at Tobruk and the Germans were known to use Semoventes. The kit has you covered, including a decal sheet with Italian army, German army and Australian Army markings. Contains 1 plastic tank
