The Sd.Kfz 251 half-track was the ubiquitous German half-track used throughout World War II to transport Panzergrenadiers. The 251 was known by German and Allied soldiers alike as ‘Hanomag’ after its manufacturer Hannoversche Maschinenbau AG. Combining the already proven Sd.Kfz 251 half-track with the short L/24 low velocity 7.5cm gun created the Sd Kfz 251/9, nicknamed the Stummel (‘Stump’) because of the gun’s short length. Stummels were issued to heavy gun companies of Panzergrenadier Regiments providing mobile fire support allowing penetration of enemy defences as StuGs and other fully tracked assault guns could not always be available when the Panzergrenadiers needed them. It carried 52 rounds of ammunition for the 7.5cm as well as two machine-guns for air and close protection.

Capable of reliably knocking out virtually every Allied tank it faced, it was a well-liked weapon, much feared by Allied tankers. The world's first paratroopers to be used in large numbers, the German Fallschirmjager were at the tip of the spear when war broke out in 1939. They led daring assaults on strategic targets, such as the fortress at Eben Emael, enabling the following panzers to overrun Europe. Small units still operated by glider and parachute, famously rescuing Italian leader Mussolini, and raiding behind American lines in the Ardennes. Their finest hour would undoubtly be the bitter fighting as they occupied the monastery at Monte Cassino for months in the face of overwhelming odds, earning themselves the nickname 'Green Devils'. Specialist training bred hardened fighters and the Gebirgsjäger (mountain infantry) were regarded as elite alongside Fallschirmjager. Gebirgsjäger originated from the Alpenkorps of WWI, where they were used to defend the mountain passes from their Italian equivalent, Alpini. This box contains 10 finely detailed metal models. Options include the usual submachine guns for the NCO and 1 man, or a light machine gun upgrade for 1 man and a loader. Add on further men, Anti tank Grenades, and/or skis and they really start giving you a very hard hitting and mobile force for winter themed battles.

Based on the reliable Czechoslovakian Panzer 38(t) chassis, almost 3,000 of Hetzers (Baiters) were built by the war’s end. Their small size and very low profile gave them distinct advantages in the role of tank hunters. In addition, the Hetzer wasn’t hampered by the mechanical problems associated with the larger tank destroyers such as the Jagdpanther and Jagdtiger, nor did it have the unprotected fighting compartment of the Nashorn or Marder tank hunters. plus its remote control roof machine gun gave it good close defence capability. Hetzers equipped many Waffen-SS and Wehrmacht (even the Luftwaffe and Kriegsmarine) formations, seeing action on all fronts on which Germany fought as well as with the Hungarian army. The first Hetzers entered service with 731st and 743rd Heeres Panzerjäger Abteilung in May/June of 1944. German scientists had been working on rocketry for all manner of purposes in the years leading up to the war. When the Germans crashed over the border into Russia in 1942 they had a secret weapon, with the cover name of Nebelwerfer or "Fog thrower". This was a multi-barrelled, electrically-fired rocket launcher that sent its payload of heavy rockets thousands of yards out to engulf enemy positions... With a fearsome flash of flame and the howling of a banshee wail they caused terror when used in large numbers; bringing down a barrage on an area less accurately than artillery but with awesome psychological effect that could sap the will of a defender. This set features the Warlord Games Figure Head System. This allows you to choose which heads to attach to your models allowing amazing variety and pose-ability. The Königstiger (officially named the Panzerkampfwagen Tiger Ausf. B or Sd.kfz 182) more commonly known as the ‘King Tiger’ or ‘Royal Tiger’ by Allied troops, was a development of the fearsome Tiger I tank. Its introduction to hostilities in 1944 caused significant problems for the Allies but ultimately it saw action too late and in tew fewer numbers to have a game-changing impact on the war. This box contains:

Tough, lavishly equipped and politically indoctrinated, SS troops formed over 38 divisions and numerous other regimental and battalion-sized units, totalling nearly a million men under arms. Their armoured units won many plaudits for their actions, and although relationships between regular army units and the Waffen-SS were sometimes strained, most SS units fought ferociously, against great odds until the wars end in Berlin, 1945. The Waffen-SS was a controversial organisation - their zeal and discipline could not be questioned although their many documented atrocities will perhaps be their greatest legacy. This boxed set contains 1,500 points of German SS-Grenadiers.

Infantry weapons teams are a key component of any Bolt Action army, providing as they do great tactical flexibility for your force. Sniper teams, anti-tank teams and flamethrower teams are among the most prevalent, presenting your opponent with multiple challenges to overcome. The Panzerschreck was a German development of the American bazooka, first encountered in North Africa, firing a large calibre shaped-charge rocket projectile. The back-blast from the weapon was so intense that early teams wore protective capes and masks – later a blast shield was fitted to the weapon giving it a distinctive appearance. The Panzerschreck and disposable anti-tank Panzerfaust had replaced the Panzerbüchse 39 anti-tank rifle by 1944. During the battle of Stalingrad, Russian snipers took such a heavy toll upon the beleaguered Wehrmacht that the Germans began to train and equip their own marksmen to undertake a specialist role as snipers. A variety of rifles were used for sniping, including the standard KAR-98K and the semi-automatic Gewehr 43, all fitted with the high quality ZF39 telescopic sight, and equipped with precision-manufactured ammunition. Flamethrowers – Flammenwerfer – were used through the war and were often employed against buildings or fortifications. During the latter part of the war, the Germans produced a lighter, smaller design that carried enough fuel for a single burst – effectively a one-shot flamethrower –the Eintossflammenwerfe. It is not known, however, whether this weapon was actually ever employed. Box contains:

Containing a single Sd.KLfz 251/1 ausf C half-track, more popularly known as a 'Hanomag', this easy to build, yet remarkably detailed, plastic boxed set gives your Landsers mobility, a degree of protection and the supporting firepower of their MGs for and aft. Always at the forefront of the fighting, the Waffen-SS were well-equipped, even as the supply of new materials and weapons became more of an issue for the Third Reich as Allied bombing campaigns pummelled German industry. Armed with the best weaponry the Wehrmacht could field, the Waffen-SS fought with discipline and tenacity although they had little choice as they knew the enemy would give no quarter to their hated foe – SS troops being dealt with brutally, if captured. These figures are shown wearing a mix of the wool-lined M40 and fur-lined M43 parkas issued to Waffen-SS troops – the latter being available in grey, tan or Italian camouflage pattern. This box set contains a 10-man Waffen-SS squad of which separates into:

Originally developed as an anti-aircraft weapon, the Flak 37 8.8cm (or Eighty-eight as it became known by Allied troops) had a high muzzle velocity to allow it to reach the higher ranges modern bombers were capable of at the time. This would make it an exceptionally deadly anti-tank weapon as many Allied tank crews would learn to their peril. The 88 could also be deployed as a conventional artillery piece – as one infantryman noted, the 88 was 'anti-everything'... Capable of firing in extremis whilst still attached to its wheeled carriages (although with limited traverse or elevation), the 88 could be fully deployed onto its cruciform firing platform and ready to fire in around two and a half minutes. Many 88s were fitted with a large gunshield although there were many examples of this being dispensed with. Being such a large and heavy weapon it could only be towed by larger prime movers such as the Sd.Kfz 7 halftrack. This Flak 37 kit is supplied with 8.8cm shells and shell cases and can be built to both traverse and elevate - neither enemy armour nor aircraft will be safe! Contents:

Adolf Hitler’s aggressive campaigns across the world ensured his troops would face the enemy in all environments and climates. None were more unforgiving than the harsh winters on the Eastern Front or in the Italian hills and mountains. The resourceful German landser (common soldiers) often had to make do with little more than their standard issue woollen greatcoat, gloves, scarves and a steely determination to not only stave off the cold, but also be able to fight and win. These highly detailed plastic figures are ideal to represent German Infantry (Winter) – be they Heer or Waffen-SS – facing the enemy in cold weather or in the very depths of the bitter winter snows. The Panzer III Plastic Box allows you to make the Ausf J, L, M, or N variants. The Panzer III was one of the most numerous German tanks of the war, and was the mainstay of German armoured forces when they invaded France and the Low Countries, then later Russia. It was well armoured for the time and equipped with the 5cm KwK 38 or 39 L/42 cannon, the N variant having a 7.5cm KwK 37 cannon. Set contains one plastic vehicle kit.

Formed around a core of Veteran Troops and armed with the new StG44, the Volksgrenadiers head to battle in defense of their homeland! After suffering a double loss (both Army group Center in Operation Bagration, and the Fifth Panzer Army to the Allies in Normandy) the German Army created some 78 Volksgrenadier divisions from Autumn 1944 onwards. Volksgrenadier divisions participated in the Battle of the Bulge, the defense of the Siegfried Line and Eastern Front, and in the final battles in Germany. Volksgrenadier divisions should not be confused with the Volkssturm, which is an entirely different, ill equiped, old, unfit, and young type of unit. Several Volksgrenadier divisions, especially those made up of "jobless" Wehrmacht personnel drawn from the Kriegsmarine and the Luftwaffe, displayed high motivation and morale which resulted in surprisingly good cohesion and military effectiveness against the combined Allied armies.

Representing the classic image of the German infantryman during World War II, these miniatures are equipped with knee-high jackboots, unadorned 'coalscuttle' helmet and a martial discipline that took them to almost complete dominance of mainland Europe. Whilst the glory often went to the armoured knights of the panzer divisions, the infantry were the spine of the Wehrmacht. Germany's cunning use of Blitzkrieg tactics conquered Poland, swept through the Low Countries and defeated France, before turning their attention to the Soviet Union. Soviet forces were pushed all the way to Moscow as the relentless march of Hitler's landsers swept all before them. Well-led, superbly trained and equipped with the finest infantry weapons in the world, the German infantryman was a skilled and dangerous foe capable of thinking for themselves if needed, giving them a significant advantage over their foes. The Panther was the best all-round German tank of the war and although conceived as a medium tank, at 45 tons and with frontal armour over 100mm thick and a high velocity KwK 42 L70 gun, it was more than a match for any Allied tank. In games of Bolt Action the Panther is a medium tank with the Reinforced Front Armour rule, is armed with a super-heavy anti-tank gun, and can be included in Armoured Platoons. Providing dogged resistance from hedgerows and shattered towns, they fight for every inch of land conquered by the Third Reich... The boxed set contains 10 metal infantry figures each armed with an STG44 assault rifle. All figures have separate heads allowing you to build your squad in a variety of ways. Several are wearing their zeltbahn tent quarters as camouflaged capes.
