    Konflikt '47 Japanese Shibito Squad

    Konflikt ’47: Japanese Shibito Squad

    , ,
The Shibito Squads were relentless on the battlefields of 1947, immune to fear and programmed to fight until they collapse. US and Commonwealth troops found themselves under constant pressure in the remote battlefields of the Pacific Theatre. Without the need for food, water or even ammunition, the reanimated soldiers (note - not Zombies!) could range far behind enemy lines, sowing terror wherever they appear. Carrying simple weapons, immune to pain and often bearing the faces of former comrades, the Shibito Squads are now spearheading the Imperial Japanese Army’s advances against the Allies across the Pacific Islands. , ,
Using the technical data provided by Germany, the Japanese have made incredible advances in the field of molecular cohesion, creating a device that generates a small field capable of phasing out of sync with the material around it. The military implementation of this research – the Ghost Attack Squads (Yurei Kogeki-Tai) – have proven highly capable of surprising Allied forces, attacking from unlikely directions or through the heaviest fortifications. Armed with rapid-firing compression rifles, a squad of Ghost soldiers can emerge from cover and lay down a significant weight of fire before retreating back through terrain, making any attempts at pursuit impossible.

Using a low level of DNA enhancement through their Rift-tech programme, the Soviet Union has created an all-female, propaganda-driven elite unit. Combined with intensive training and indoctrination, the unit has proven highly effective in combat, although is only used when causalities are anticipated to be minimal. Their battlefield successes may well see them deployed in broader roles as the war progresses.

    , ,
The Soviets developed a weapon utilising Ursine DNA to create an 8ft tall man/bear hybrid that could go toe-to toe with any enhanced infantry on the battlefields of 1947. Powerful, but lacking control, the Ursus soldiers were often unleashed in highly contested areas of the battlefield to tip the balance of favour towards the Soviet army. The Ursus are nearly unbeatable in combat, both tough and strong, they'll be able to hack down any enemy troops foolish enough to stand in their way. Give them supporting fire so they can advance unhindered or use a transport (a standard truck can carry 5 Ursus infantry) as an ideal way of getting this death squad in amongst the enemy front line. Let havoc ensue!

Through a combination of espionage, scientific exploitation of prisoners, and defecting scientists, the Soviet Union gained substantial knowledge of the German super-soldier and genesplicing programmes and produced its own versions of DNA enhanced soldiers. In an effort to make soldiers immune to the cold, a method of making monsters out of men was discovered. With a form of anti-freeze in their veins, these ‘ghouls’ are immune to cold and fire and have a freezing touch that can cause immediate damage. These fast fanatical nightmarish creatures can cause havoc in amongst your enemies lines, move up fast (don't worry about flame weapons as they're immune) to take advantage of their combat prowess!

Armed with the proven 75mm gun and a .50 HMG, the Grizzly is versatile and adaptable. More useful are perhaps the powerful arms that can smash tanks and clear obstacles. Well-liked by its crews, the Grizzly is considered a better infantry support option than the Sherman, particularly in urban environments where it can carry out improvised route clearance and help build defensive obstacles. The 75mm gun was chosen ahead of the 76mm for its improved HE round, often the most heavily used ammunition in an engagement. Mortars played a hugely important role in WWII, providing vital indirect fire support in a lightweight, portable package. One of the core units of Heavy Weapons Platoons, when drawing line of sight from a friendly spotter they can menace enemy units all across the table. Black Powder Epic Battles: American Civil War Union Cavalry & Zouaves Brigade

    , ,
With their dashing, brightly coloured uniforms the zouave light infantry regiments were involved in all major American Civil War battles. There were several renowned zouave regiments in Union service such the 14th Brooklyn, Fire Zouaves and Duryée's Zouaves. Fighting on horseback and armed with pistol, sabre and carbine, the role of cavalry during the civil war was more as mounted infantry, reconnaissance and patrol units rather than the shock cavalry of previous eras. Skirmishers were an important element of armies of both sides, providing skirmish screens for main units and harrying enemy flanks. This plastic set provides enough models to field a complete Union brigade comprising one zouaves regiment of 100 men, a regiment of cavalry, a regiment of dismounted cavalry and a regiment of skirmishers.

One of the most iconic pieces of hardware in US Military history, over 40,000 M3 half-tracks were produced during World War II with many thousands of similar models also being supplied to their allies. The M3A1 was ideally suited to rushing troops to the front and through gaps in the enemy lines. With a top speed of 45 mph, and armoured enough to keep out most small arms fire, they performed admirably in this role. They had a crew of three men and could carry ten fully equipped troops. There were many variations on the chassis including tank destroyers, mortar carriers and ambulances, but most frequent by far were the M3A1 with its armament of a heavy .50 cal heavy machine gun and two or more .30 cal machine guns. , ,
Roar into battle with the M3 Lee Medium Tank! Entering American service in 1941, the M3 Medium Tank was designed to serve as an interim tank while the M4 Sherman was developed and put into production. Despite this, it was by no means a poor vehicle, boasting excellent mechanical reliability and powerful firepower, albeit in a somewhat archaic layout. This kit allows you to build the M3 (known to the British in this configuration as the ‘Lee’), a powerful Medium tank able to be fielded by US, British, and Soviet forces. You can build this vehicle with the earlier short-barrelled or later long-barrelled main gun - in games of Bolt Action we treat the M3 as a Medium tank with a 9+ damage value, armed with a medium anti-tank gun in the hull, and a light anti-tank gun in the turret, plus a medium machine gun! Whether you’re in the Western Desert with US or British forces, or equipping your Soviet troops with Lend-Lease armour, the M3 Lee is a great option! Bolt Action: Japanese Type 4 Ho-Ro Self-Propelled Gun

    , ,
Inspired by German self-propelled guns the Type 4 Ho-Ro assault gun was based on a reinforced Type 97 Chi-Ha tank chassis. The Type 4 Ho-Ro mounted the Type 38 150mm howitzer. Surrounding the front of the howitzer was 25mm of armour plating – the open rear leaving the crew susceptible to close combat and shrapnel. The 150mm gun predominantly fired Type 88 APHE (armour-piercing high explosive) rounds although it could also fire HEAT (high explosive anti-tank) shells. Ammunition was stored in a container on the rear engine deck. Rushed into service towards the end of World War II, the Ho-Ro was deployed in batteries of four vehicles. It saw action during the Philippines Campaign and during the American assault on Okinawa where it was heavily outnumbered by US artillery assets. Contains one plastic, resin & metal Ho-Ro assault gun, Bolt Action stat card, vehicle damage markers, full-colour decal sheet and Bolt Action Order dice.

Bolt Action: German Pioniers (Assault Engineers / Pioneers)

    , ,
Germany Assault Pioniers were skilled at building all manner of fortifications, communications lines, tank traps and minefields. In addition to building useful structures, they were adept at the destruction of similar enemy positions, blowing railway lines and making roads unsafe for the enemy to travel along. As the German quest for global superiority stalled and finally crashed down around them, the pioniers were tasked with the vital job of slowing the Allied advance, be it by booby trap, minefield, blown bridges, or taking the fight directly to the enemy. Often overlooked in favour of the dashing panzers or elite Waffen-SS troops, the pioniers were the unsung heroes of the German military machine and you can now field them on the battlefield with these superbly equipped miniatures! Within this boxed set you'll find flamethrowers, demolition charges, anti-tank rifle, mine detector, assault pistols, engineers packs and much more besides! German Pioniers contains:

The Sd.Kfz 250/1 was a reconnaissance and transport half-track mainly used by scout and HQ units. The vehicle was a shortened version of the ubiquitous Sd.Kfz 251 Hanomag series and much like its longer cousin there were many variants fulfilling different roles, such as cable carriers, ammunition carriers and radio carriers, amongst others. Bolt Action: British & Canadian (1943-45) Starter Army

To stem the aggression from Germany, Italy and Japan, Britain and her Commonwealth put huge numbers of men into uniform in WWII. Her small but professional army was swallowed up defending a worldwide Empire and soon her forces were shattered and in full retreat, culminating in crushing reverses at Dunkirk and in Singapore. However, Britain stoically declined to surrender and her army was reforged, fighting back against the might of the Axis powers. The Tommies, as they were known, learned new techniques on the field of battles and by war’s end were a highly effective fighting force having fought from the opening of hostilities in 1939 to the war’s end in 1945. Containing no less than 36 highly customizable plastic infantry, supplemented by weapons teams, transports and a Churchill tank (itself highly customizable as you can build any one of seven variants) this boxed set gives you a highly effective and balanced starting force for a British or Canadian army. Few fighting forces rival the hard-won reputation of the US Marine Corps. Showing their mettle during the island-hopping campaigns in the Pacific, and then to pushing the enemy back to their homeland, the US Marine had few equals in WWII. Within the claustrophobic confines of the hills and jungle environment over which they fought, the marines were reliant more on support weapons than on tanks. Medium machine guns like the M1917 and the 81mm medium mortar were vital to their success. Contains these metal models:

Black Powder: American Civil War – Zouaves Regiment

    , ,
March into battle with style with these dashing American Civil War Zouaves! At the time of the American Civil War, all things French were fashionable in military circles – in particular the dashing uniforms of their Zouave colonial light infantry! Clad in extravagant, flowing pantaloons, ornately decorated jackets, and a variety of jaunty headgear, over 70 regiments would be raised by the Union, with a smaller number in Confederate service. Often beginning as light skirmishing infantry, some would convert to regular line troops (frequently due to a lack of suitably fancy replacement uniforms), while others would remain as Zouaves throughout the war. Zouave regiments often saw themselves as something of an elite fighting force, and many units earned deserved reputations as fierce and determined fighters. No Black Powder American Civil War collection is complete without a unit or two of Zouaves, and these gorgeously detailed Warlord Resin figures are perfect for both Union and Confederate forces, adding a splash of colour and vibrancy to your battleline! Box contains 24 Warlord resin figures (including command group), plastic bases, MDF Snake Fence scenery, cap badge decal sheet and full-colour flag sheets for both Union and Confederate troops.

Bolt Action: Market Garden Campaign Book (Softback)

    , ,
Campaign: Market Garden complements the Bolt Action wargame system by providing information and scenarios for games set in the greatest airborne operation ever mounted... For Bolt Action players Market Garden has it all – daring attacks, determined resistance and heroic last stands by American, British, German and Polish troops ranging from elite veteran paratroopers to novices and from obsolete armoured cars to King Tiger tanks. This volume covers a very short space of time compared to other Bolt Action campaign books – just a matter of nine days in September 1944 – and is focused on a much smaller geographical area; a single narrow route through the Netherlands rather than a broad sweep of very variable terrain across several countries. The fighting was incredibly intense; you’ll find bullets, blood, bombs, and bravery in abundance. The Allies struggled to keep the road open and the Germans struggled to cut it, so both sides engaged in attacks and counter-attacks over the same ground and therefore faced the same challenges.

Bolt Action: German Stug III ausf G (or StuH-42) Tank

    , ,
The Sturmgeschütz (StuG) III was a well-armed and armoured vehicle based on the tried and tested Pz.Kpfw III chassis. Manned by the artillery originally, as it was considered a mobile howitzer, it went through many variants during WWII, and indeed was one of the few German AFVs to serve throughout the war on all fronts. The StuG III had good frontal armour, its low profile making it ideal for performing ambushes, presenting a poor target for return fire. It is armed with an efficient and powerful 75mm gun and carries an MG42 for close defence. The StuGs were welcomed by their infantry comrades, supporting their attacks with HE shells or knocking out enemy tanks to the extent that by the end of hostilities, they had amassed more kills than any other German vehicle. This highly detailed plastic kit can be built as either the StuG III Ausf G assault gun or as the 10.5cm Sturmhaubitze infantry support gun. Contents:
    • 1 plastic Stug - either 1 x Stug III ausf G or 1 x StuH-42

Black Powder Epic Battles American Civil War Union Brigade
Black Powder Epic Battles American Civil War Union Brigade

Black Powder Epic Battles: American Civil War Union Brigade

    , ,
The most basic infantry building block was the infantry regiment (referred to as a “battalion” in Hardee’s drill manual, which was used by both sides). In both North and South the infantry regiments were organised on similar lines. A regiment typically comprised ten companies, each numbering 100 men, supported by staff, drummers and officers. However, the rigours of warfare would summarily lead to a reduction in strength by way of battle, disease and desertion, and a regiment's numbers could vary wildly. The states of the north had a tendency to allow regiments to fall below an effective level, to a point where a number of such regiments would be forged into a brand-new formation. This sometimes had a detrimental effect as units lost their identities and their associated fighting spirit. The most common identifier for a regiment was a number and the State in which they were raised – for example, the “15th Alabama” or the “4th Connecticut”. This box contains enough miniatures to make:

Black Powder Epic Battles: American Civil War Confederate Brigade

    , ,
The most basic infantry building block was the infantry regiment (referred to as a “battalion” in Hardee’s drill manual, which was used by both sides). Unlike the North, the general policy of the Confederacy was to send raw recruits to reinforce existing regiments in an effort to keep them at fighting strength. This also bestowed the recruits with the benefit of learning from more experienced fighters. This box contains enough miniatures to make:

Formed of regiments from Wisconsin, Michigan, and Indiana, and clad in the stylish and unique black ‘Hardee’ hats, the Iron Brigade would earn its nickname at the Battle of South Mountain in 1862, where supposedly Major General McLellan would state to Major General Hooker that the brigade “…must be made of iron” and consisted of “the best troops in the world”. Disciplined, stubborn, and brave troops, the Iron Brigade suffered the highest percentage of casualties of any brigade during the war, a testament to their fighting spirit and determination in the face of danger. These brave men are ready to join your Epic Battles: American Civil War Union force, marching proudly beneath their standards – and their fancy hats! Black Powder: Albion Triumphant Volume 2 – The Hundred Days Campaign Book

    , ,
On a damp, overcast Sunday in June 1815, twenty years of continuous warfare the Napoleonic Wars came to a violent and bloody conclusion on a rain-soaked field in Belgium. These wars were truly a world affair, with European powers fighting battles not only on the mainland of Europe but as far as India, Egypt, the Caribbean and America. The greatest generals of the age finally faced each other on the field of battle; The Duke of Wellington, rooted to a little-known ridge, faced, the Emperor of the French. Napoleon Bonaparte, master of the attack, opposed brigades of British, Germans, Dutch and Belgians; brigades of an infamous army that, despite horrific casualties, clung to the ridge for over nine hours to ensure that the arrival of BlǬcher's Prussian army would put the Duke victory beyond doubt. The Battle of Waterloo became a true landmark in miltary history, one that will never fade, and nothing on such a grand scale would be seen again. This supplement for Black Powder overviews the main battles, armies and personalities of the Hundred Days campaign, and includes army lists, scenarios and special rules to enable you to re-fight them using the Black Powder rules. Featured conflicts include: Quatre Bras & Ligny (16th June 1815) Hougoumont (18th June 1815) Waterloo (18th June 1815) 132 pages of Napoleonic army lists, background, troop stats and scenarios make this an absolute must for lovers of Black Powder, of Napoleonic gaming or simply of gloriously produced wargaming books! , ,
This campaign book focuses on some of the key clashes fought in Normandy in the summer of 1944 as British, Canadian, Polish, and other Allied forces engaged in desperate battles against a dedicated and determined German opposition. As well as summarising the history, this book also details a number of scenarios inspired by the engagements within the Normandy campaign, and the special rules required to play them. This book tells the story of the British and Canadian contribution to this monumental task, and the stoic German resistance they faced. It guides Bolt Action players from the latter stages of D-Day, beginning with the fierce fighting in the coastal towns off the beaches at Gold, Juno and Sword, through the violent clashes around the strategically vital city of Caen, and to the march against Germany itself. Inside, you’ll find thirteen diverse scenarios, covering the action from the first pushes inland, to the dramatic climax of the campaign in the British & Canadian sectors during Operation Tractable.  We’ve also included army lists for four of the campaign’s most important forces – the Canadian Army, the battle-hardened Commandos, the fanatical 12th SS Panzer Division ‘Hitlerjugend’, and the Luftwaffe Field Division. These new army lists add a whole new dimension of play, allowing you to create themed forces for your campaigns in Normandy! Also included is a whole stable of new special characters, including the VC-winning medic Corporal Frederick Topham, who put life and limb on the line to rescue wounded men, and the fanatical Kurt ‘Panzer’ Meyer, who earned his Iron Cross leading the Liebstandarte division’s reconnaissance battalion in Russia. These special characters are the perfect opportunity to theme your force further and make for amazing conversion opportunities.

Konflikt ’47: United States M8A3 Tesla Scout

    , ,
When the scientists leading the Rift-tech Tesla weapons programme offered the US military a lighter and smaller version of the Tesla cannon that had been so successful on the Sherman chassis, the military leapt at the opportunity. The addition of the Tesla cannon on the M8 gave recce units more firepower and an increased versatility against infantry whilst maintaining enough anti-tank capability to threaten their Axis counterparts such as the Spinne and Puma. The lack of recoil in the Tesla Scout system meant very little work was needed on the chassis, although the weight of the batteries has shortened the lifespan of the vehicle’s suspension and gearbox; a worthwhile sacrifice from the crew’s perspective.

    • Full-colour waterslide decal sheet
    • A detailed construction leaflet

Konflikt ’47: British Commonwealth Automated Carrier

    , ,
As British research and development continue in the embryonic fields of automation and automotive intelligence, the combination of automated control units and armoured vehicles is a logical progression. With no requirement for crew comfort and with a greater tolerance to shock, noise and impact, an automated vehicle offers the opportunity to place larger weapon systems on relatively small, agile and hard to hit platforms. The initial trials proved largely successful, with the combat potential of these vehicles deemed worth the occasional processing glitches and failures. With trials completed, the deployment of large numbers of automated carriers is the first large-scale field test of this concept. Using the ubiquitous universal carrier as a base, two automated infantry units are hardwired into the vehicle, one as a driver and the other as a gunner. With any redundant limbs or body parts removed, the AI units take little space which allows a mounting of a twin auto-cannon weapon system. This firepower would be unworkable with a human crew due to the recoil, noise levels and cramped crew space, but works with automated crew perfectly.

The directed energy weapons conceived and developed by Nikola Tesla have had an immediate impact on the battlefield. Even heavily-armoured vehicles are vulnerable to electricity and with a dispersion setting, squads of infantry can be attacked just as easily. Whilst relatively short ranged and bulky, they are effective against both vehicles and infantry, which makes them popular with the tank crews that use them. Tactically the glow of the Tesla Cannon’s coils makes ambushes and fighting at night difficult, but the psychological effect of the electrical arcs on enemy soldiers is worth the side effects.

In many civil wars in history, both sides were equipped in a very similar fashion with the colour of their uniforms and the flags they fought under being the identifying features. This was no different for the forces of the Union and the Confederacy in the American Civil War, and these miniatures, advancing with their firearms in ‘right shoulder shift’ are equally suited to be painted as either a Union or Confederate regiment. Wearing dark blue tunics, light blue trousers and armed with percussion rifles, the Union soldiers learnt how to manoeuvre and march great distances to take the war to the south. Early regiments were of mixed quality with few having drilled before, let alone seen active service of any note. By the war’s end they were a tough and efficient fighting body of men, a match for their adversary, ‘Johnny Reb’. Confederate regiments were tough, with many in their ranks used to privation and familiar with firearms. This was just as well, as compared to their northern foes in the Union they were frequently poorly equipped, fed and armed – much of their equipment was taken from Federal prisoners or privately purchased. The better maintained troops favoured the Enfield muzzle-loading rifles if available, but many types of rifles were used during the war, even old flintlocks in reserve units. Ragtag they may look, but southern troops had a spring in their step and were renowned for their quick and terrifying charges, many emitting the unearthly, ululating ‘Rebel Yell’ to unnerve their ‘blue belly’ opponents. Box contains 24 Warlord resin figures (including command group), plastic bases, MDF Snake Fence scenery, cap badge decal sheet and full-colour flag sheets for both Union and Confederate troops.

In order to test new equipment and technology coming from the UK’s Rift-tech labs and workshops, the 7th Bn Grenadier Guards were seconded to the Rift Research Department in order to provide troops to trial new equipment and technology. Once initial trials were completed, platoons of the Battalion would deploy forward to test the equipment on the front line, often to the benefit of the infantry they were supporting, but occasionally proving a project a disappointing failure. Over the past two years, the Battalion has developed a greater understanding of the weaponry at its disposal and is now considered an elite shock unit as much as an R&D unit. This, of course, fits nicely with the role the Grenadiers and the Guards Division has played in the British Army’s history. Although technically still part of the Guard’s Division, the unit is often referred to as The Grenadiers, or more recently, the Rift Grenadiers. Contains 10 miniatures.

Based on the reliable Czechoslovakian Panzer 38(t) chassis, almost 3,000 of Hetzers (Baiters) were built by the war’s end. Their small size and very low profile gave them distinct advantages in the role of tank hunters. In addition, the Hetzer wasn’t hampered by the mechanical problems associated with the larger tank destroyers such as the Jagdpanther and Jagdtiger, nor did it have the unprotected fighting compartment of the Nashorn or Marder tank hunters. plus its remote control roof machine gun gave it good close defence capability. Hetzers equipped many Waffen-SS and Wehrmacht (even the Luftwaffe and Kriegsmarine) formations, seeing action on all fronts on which Germany fought as well as with the Hungarian army. The first Hetzers entered service with 731st and 743rd Heeres Panzerjäger Abteilung in May/June of 1944. Years of seething hostility between the North and South boiled over as the Southern States saw Lincoln’s election as a direct threat to their rights, and the nation fell apart as a new Confederacy was formed in the South. The Confederacy, striving to assert its independence, opened fire on the Northern troops occupying Fort Sumter in Charleston Harbour on April 12th 1861. Determined to preserve the Union, Northern troops headed south and on to Richmond! Over the next four terrible long years American armies tramped across American fields and burnt American farms as Americans killed Americans in a war the likes of which the nation had never seen before. The epic battles fought during the American Civil War proved beyond all doubt that war can be ‘all hell’. This supplement for Black Powder describes the history, armies, key leaders, doctrine and tactics of the American Civil War, and includes a comprehensive set of army lists and optional rules for recreating the battles of that war in miniature.

    Bolt Action M18 Hellcat

    Bolt Action: M18 Hellcat

    , ,
The Hellcat’s prodigious speed was attained by keeping its armour to no more than 1″ thick. Hellcat crews quickly took advantage of the vehicle’s speed to avoid being fired on and to outflank the heavily armoured German tanks. The M18 Hellcat first saw service in Italy but rose to fame in North West Europe, dominating German tanks (including Panthers) at Arracourt then playing a key role in the Battle of the Bulge. It also saw action in the Pacific in US and Chinese Nationalist service, being used more in the fire support role as Japanese tanks posed little threat. In games of Bolt Action the Hellcat is classed as an armoured car (Damage Value 7+) with a heavy anti-tank gun and the option to add a pintle mounted HMG, with the Fast and Recce special rules. It can be included in Amoured Platoons. Contains:
    • 1 M18 Hellcat plastic kit

The development of fast-moving reliable tanks led to many ideas of how to slow or destroy them. Large shaped blocks of concrete, strengthened with a steel core, often called Dragon's Teeth were a good way to block a vehicle's progress. Equally, infantry had to be stopped or channeled away, so engineers on all sides were kept busy constructing wooden and steel frames that held long rolls of taught barbed wire, solid enough to keep away all but the most determined men.

Although caught unawares and ill-equipped by Hitler’s last gamble in the West – the Battle of the Bulge – embattled US troops won through whilst staving off the twin foes of the German offensive and the harsh winter conditions. Given mainly menial labouring jobs they eventually saw action on the front with varying results, some fighting hard and to the last man alongside their British comrades, whilst others they broke alongside the NCO's. Bolt Action: Polish Infantry Squad in Greatcoats

    , ,
Despite facing the double invasion of their homeland in 1939 by both Germany and the Soviet Union, the vastly outnumbered Polish military fought with bravery and tenacity. The Polish army in 1939 was large, well-officered and relatively well-equipped. It fought hard, but was entirely outmanoeuvred by fast-moving German armoured thrusts supported by all arms in a new dynamic style of war that a largely foot-slogging Polish army could not match. When the Soviets joined the fight and also invaded Poland, bisecting the country, it was too much for an already over-extended army short of armour and air support to hold out against – the end was inevitable. The Poles put up a dogged resistance to the two invading forces despite, in some cases, being utterly outnumbered. There were many desperate actions where the Poles fought the invaders to a standstill, and the stoic infantry held their ground whilst their dashing Polish cavalry caught the enemy by surprise. Equipped with Mauser rifles, great coats, and standard polish uniform. Warlord sculptor Wojtek brought these heroes to life in full kit, fighting in the early autumn of 1939. • 1 NCO with rifle
    • 1 soldier with automatic rifle
    • 8 riflemen

Bolt Action: Polish Army Support Group

Polish HQ Considering the country’s location and involvement in major European conflicts for centuries, Polish officers came from a society that valued a proud military tradition. After the end of World War I, having freshly wrested its independence from neighboring powers, Poland was in a state of almost constant conflict. Most of the officers in Poland’s military were experienced and capable leaders. Polish Medium Machine Gun Team An almost exact copy of the American M1917 machine gun, the Polish military fielded its CKM wz.30 machine gun in a fashion similar to that of other European nations. It fired a 7.92mm round, like those utilized by most riflemen. Several thousand of these were produced for Poland’s armed forces during the build-up to World War II. The CKM Hotchkiss wz.14 was also used as was the CKM Maxim. Polish Medium Mortar Team Poland made use of 81mm mortars of similar design to most other nations at the time. These weapons were not as commonplace in the Polish Army as they were in other forces. Nonetheless, when available, they proved a reliable firing platform for the Polish crews manning them.

Bolt Action: Polish Army Weapons Teams

    , ,
Infantry weapons teams are a key component of any Bolt Action army, providing as they do great tactical flexibility for your force. Sniper teams, light mortar teams and anti-tank rifle teams are among the most prevalent, presenting your opponent with multiple challenges to overcome. Like many other nations, Poland learned well the lessons of World War I, and saw the value in close-support mortar weaponry. Many infantry companies were issued 46mm light mortars to fulfil this close support role. The Polish Army didn’t include specially equipped snipers as such, but the best shots in a company would be designated as marksmen. The Polish wz.35 anti-tank rifle was unusual in that it did not fire a solid tungsten core round as did most other nations’ anti-tank rifles. Rather, it fired a standard lead core with a steel jacket. Instead of penetrating the hull like traditional anti-tank rounds, the transferred energy would cause spalling (making a piece of armour tear off inside the crew compartment) that lead to fragments ricocheting around the inside of the vehicle – a very nasty affair for the crew! • 2-man Sniper team
    • 2-man Anti-tank rifle team

Infantry weapons teams are a key component of any Bolt Action army, providing as they do great tactical flexibility for your force. Sniper teams, anti-tank teams and flamethrower teams are among the most prevalent, presenting your opponent with multiple challenges to overcome. British forces were armed with 2-inch mortar for close support purposes. Two men were needed to operate it. An NCO was responsible for carrying and firing the weapon while the other carried ammunition. Weighing less than 11Ibs and offering an effective range of 500 yards, these mortars were quick to manoeuvre and deploy as needed. Snipers were armed with a SMLE No.4 Rifle equipped with a No.32 Mk.1 telescopic sight. The team carried fifty rounds of ammunition, five tracer round and fiver-armour-piercing rounds. Two No.36 Mills bombs or two No.77 smoke grenades were also carried, along with binoculars and a camouflage net. The portable flamethrower available to British forces was the Ack Pack. At a weight of 64Ibs, the Ack Packs could be carried and operated by one man. Fully loaded, the Ack Pack was capable of ten bursts each of a two second duration. With a range of fifty yards it was a truly fearsome weapon that excelled in clearing bunkers and buildings. Contains the following Warlord Resin Plus figures:

    Bolt Action: Sherman V (M4A4)

    , ,
Supplied under the Lend-Lease programme to Great Britain, the M4A4 was renamed the Sherman V by its new owners. The Sherman V would be the mainstay of the British and Polish armoured units during the later years of the Second World War and was also used by the Free French. This was the most numerous British tank. Its only downside was a high silhouette, but the Sherman made up for this with its reliability, ruggedness and numbers. Armed with a 75mm gun it excelled at supporting infantry and suppressing enemy guns, and though later outgunned by German heavies, the Sherman still gave a good account of itself in rare armoured encounters. In games of Bolt Action the Sherman V is a medium tank armed with a medium anti-tank gun that benefits from the Improved HE special rule, a coaxial MMG, hull mounted MMG and optional pintle mounted HMG. It can be included in Armoured Platoons. NB: this model is of a British Sherman V but can also be used as an M4/A1/A2/A3/A4 in US service. Contains:

Bolt Action Sherman VC Firefly tank

    Bolt Action: Sherman VC Firefly

    , ,
Sherman Firefly was a British invention that mounted the powerful 17 pdr anti-tank gun on a Sherman hull. Making its debut on D-Day with one Firefly per troop, it soon became highly valued as the only British tank capable of defeating the Panther and Tiger tanks it faced in Normandy at standard combat ranges. In recognition of this, German tank and anti-tank gun crews were instructed to attack Fireflies first. Over 2,000 were made, and by late 1944 numbers had increased to two per troop. Often known as the 'Charlie' tanks in the field because of the 'c' denoting them as rearmed with the 17-pdr, the nickname 'Firefly' was unofficial and referred to the huge muzzle blast. As with all Warlord plastic vehicle kits, the Firefly comes with its own sheet of waterslide decals with a variety of unit markings, tank names, and other identifying markings to give your model that additional touch of realism when it takes to the tabletop battlefield! In games of Bolt Action the Sherman Firefly is a medium tank with a super-heavy anti-tank gun with a reduced HE charge. It can be included in any British armoured platoon. This vehicle can also be used in games of Achtung Panzer!, the game of close-quarters tank-on-tank combat, its rules can be found in the Achtung Panzer! rulebook.

The Sd.Kfz 250/1 was a reconnaissance and transport half-track mainly used by scout and HQ units. The vehicle was a shortened version of the ubiquitous Sd.Kfz 251 Hanomag series and much like its longer cousin there were many variants fulfilling different roles, such as cable carriers, ammunition carriers, and radio carriers, amongst others. It carried six men including the driver and the co-driver and was armed with two pintle-mounted MG34 machine guns, one shielded facing forward and the other covering the rear and air. The model included in this set is based on the original 'Alte' (old) version which served through World War II, despite the 'Neu' (new) version beginning to be introduced from late 1943. , ,
Fielded in great numbers by the French army, the Renault R35 was used to support infantry formations as they battled the invading Germans. Designed to replace the antiquated FT-17 tanks, the Renault R35 was a small but well-armoured French infantry support tank. It would also see service with the French, German, Italian, Polish, Romanian, Bulgarian and Yugoslavian armies! The R35 was slow but, as it was largely employed to support infantry, speed wasn't a key consideration, although its two-man crew were usually overworked in the cramped confines. Its armour was impressive for a tank of the early war period – up to 43mm. It had a low velocity 37mm main gun and a machine gun giving it good infantry support capability – the main role this tank was used in. Contains one resin & metal Renault R35 light tank with metal tank crewman, stat cards, damage markers, decal sheet and order dice.

Bolt Action: French Army Infantry section

    , ,
Declaring war on Germany in 1939, the French armed forces were superior to the Germans in tanks and ships but suffered from outdated tactical and strategic doctrine at the highest level. Fighting alongside their British allies, the French army performed a brave rearguard action culminating in the remarkable withdrawal from Europe at Dunkirk. With the British heading back to England, the French forces battled on stubbornly as the Germans closed on Paris… Although much has been written of the German armoured forces and the defeat of the British at Dunkirk in the dark days of 1940, far too little has been written about the gallant stands made by the French army. The French army started World War II as the most powerful army in the world. Well-equipped, with excellent tanks and artillery, the infantry divisions were numerous and confident of fighting off the hated Boche as they had twenty two years before. This was not the same war though, and the French infantrymen found themselves all too often fighting off German armoured units which had outmanoeuvred them as the Blitzkrieg rolled across Europe. It was for the honour of France and their regiments that so many Frenchmen dug in and fought it out against a more technologically and tactically advanced foe. By the time of the cease fire they had killed 27,000 Germans but had suffered appalling losses of nearly 100,000 dead and 250,000 wounded. Many brave Frenchmen went on to fight against the Allies with Vichy France, ensuring admiration and loathing in equal measure, whilst others would return to France with the Allied invasion in 1944 to reclaim their homeland… Contains a 10-man French Army Infantry Section:

    Bolt Action German Kriegsmarine Squad
    Bolt Action German Kriegsmarine Squad

    Bolt Action: German Kriegsmarine Squad

    , ,
The men of the Kriegsmarine were often asked to do more than serve at sea. U-Boat and ship crews could be found in land actions in many theatres, wearing their trademark blue sailor’s uniforms or the grey-blue U-Boat leathers as they took the fight to the enemy. The German Navy (or Kriegsmarine) had the peculiar battle honour of being involved in the first action of WW2 and also its last. Infantry units of the navy, equipped with Wehrmacht weaponry and wearing their trademark dark blue uniforms and steel helmets, assaulted the Polish port of Danzig in the opening action of the war and, five years later, flew into the maelstrom of Berlin, landing in parks and on lakes using seaplanes or any other available transport aircraft. This time they were equipped with panzerfausts in an attempt to stave off the avenging Russian armour. They formed at least three divisions and some regular army officers were placed in the units to give them the value of their experience. They frequently fought under their usual officer, so a unit could be led by a Korvettenkapitän or U-Boat commander. They fought in Poland, Narvik, Russia, Dieppe, Arnhem, many of the cut off German garrisoned ports, as well as Holland and Berlin. The Welsh 53rd Division fought them regularly in Holland and found them full of fight, giving them the nickname of the "Blue Devils".

Bolt Action: Soviet IS-2 Heavy Tank

    , ,
What do you do when you are told to upgrade an already giant metal monster that took a whole new generation of tank to actually deal with? You make it bigger and make it louder. The IS-2 is that very same beast, made as a competent replacement for the KV series and it was a far better designed machine than its predecessor. It had thick frontal armour and a huge 122mm gun, despite its size; the weight is comparable to that of the German Panther. The IS-2 was intended as a breakthrough tank so it was given a weapon suitable for such a task; and it broke through gloriously, right through the German lines and into the heart of Germany itself. In games of Bolt Action the IS-2 is a Heavy Tank with a heavy anti-tank gun that can be included in any armoured platoon. Box Contains:
    • Enough plastic components to make the IS-2 heavy tank!
    • A detailed construction booklet.
    • Full-colour waterslide decals.
    • A 8-man squad of infantry that can used as tank riders or normal infantry!
    • A stat card which holds all the essential info you need to use your tank!
    • A set of damage markers for that real effect!
This vehicle can also be used in games of Achtung Panzer!, the game of close-quarters tank-on-tank combat, its rules can be found in the Achtung Panzer! rulebook.

Sláine What The El? 2000AD Miniatures Game

Sláine: What The El? – 2000AD Miniatures Game

    ,
A prince among the alien Dark-Els, Elfric was an utterly depraved being that lusted after death and devastation. A being of magical energy, his mortal incarnation was almost impossible to destroy with normal weapons, and many were the battles where his body was pierced a dozen times and more by sword, arrow or spear without harm. Elfric’s magic also manifested itself in the form of a deadly gaze from a gem-like third eye in his forehead that could shatter armour and boil away flesh. Only with great effort and the aid of many allies was Sláine able to halt Elfric’s rampages across space and time, yet the demonic being was never utterly destroyed and will doubtless return to plague humanity another day. Els were creatures from another dimension that exists at a right angle to our own. Dark-Els were evil beings, intent on spreading destruction for Crom Cruach. Sometimes these took the form of seductive human women to lure their prey into traps. They were spiteful, deadly fighters possessed of otherworldly power, often underestimated because of their appearance. Yet when slain their true forms manifested, as their bodies reverted into bug-like abominations. NB: Models supplied unassembled and unpainted

Black Powder Napoleonic Wars Prussian Uhlans

Black Powder: Prussian Uhlans (Napoleonic Wars)

    , ,
Prussia was renowned for its excellent infantry under Frederick the Great. Less well known is the efficacy of Prussian cavalry on the European battlefield in the 19th Century. Early in the Napoleonic wars, Bonaparte himself warned his generals of the excellent Prussian cavalry. The well-trained and disciplined Prussian horse during the Hundred Days campaign formed regiments of cuirassiers, dragoons, hussars and lancers on the whole with the lighter cavalry intended for raiding and skirmishing, but in reality took their place in the main battle lines during set piece battles. The Uhlans, or lancers, of the Prussian army fulfilled the role of both skirmishing light cavalry and line shock troops alongside the dragoon and cuirassier units. Equipped with a lethal 9-foot lance, they were an imposing sight. It was the Uhlans who saved Marshall Blücher when unhorsed at Ligny. Late war Uhlans principally wore simple dark blue uniforms and practical equipment. By the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, all units had their lance pennants with black and white swallow tail pattern. • 12 Warlord Resin Napoleonic Prussian Uhlans (including officer and bugler)

Bolt Action: Fallschirmjäger (WWII German Airborne)

    , ,
The world's first paratroopers to be used in large numbers, the German Fallschirmjager were at the tip of the spear when war broke out in 1939. They led daring assaults on strategic targets, such as the fortress at Eben Emael, enabling the following panzers to overrun Europe. As a paratrooper force the Fallschirmjager's greatest achievement would be the intense fighting they performed as they seized Crete in the face of more numerous British and Commonwealth forces during 1941. This pyrrhic victory meant that they were never again used en masse. Small units still operated by glider and parachute, famously rescuing Italian leader Mussolini, and raiding behind American lines in the Ardennes. Their finest hour would undoubtly be the bitter fighting as they occupied the monastery at Monte Cassino for months in the face of overwhelming odds, earning themselves the nickname 'Green Devils'. The German Paratroopers were arguably the toughest in a tough army. Warlord Games Fallschirmjager miniatures are ideally suited for battles in North West Europe and can also be used in actions on the Russian Front.

Representing the classic image of the German infantryman during World War II, these miniatures are equipped with knee-high jackboots, unadorned 'coalscuttle' helmet and a martial discipline that took them to almost complete dominance of mainland Europe. Whilst the glory often went to the armoured knights of the panzer divisions, the infantry were the spine of the Wehrmacht. Germany's cunning use of Blitzkrieg tactics conquered Poland, swept through the Low Countries and defeated France, before turning their attention to the Soviet Union. Soviet forces were pushed all the way to Moscow as the relentless march of Hitler's landsers swept all before them. Well-led, superbly trained and equipped with the finest infantry weapons in the world, the German infantryman was a skilled and dangerous foe capable of thinking for themselves if needed, giving them a significant advantage over their foes. Bolt Action: German Sd.Kfz 251/2 Ausf D (8cm Granatwerfer) Half Track

    , ,
From the early stages of World War II, the German army began to equip their Panzergrenadiers with armoured half-tracks that would support their panzers in action. They developed the excellent Sd.Kfz 251 series, made by Hanomag, and steadily produced them in their thousands, with over twenty versions seeing service in most theatres of the war. One of the most useful variants was the 8cm Granatwerfer – a version of the Hanomag carrying the standard infantry mortar. The mortar could be moved around the battlefield quickly and in reasonable safety, its armour shrugging off most infantry weapons and shrapnel. The mortar was most commonly removed from the half-track to engage the enemy, however, in extremis, it could fire from the safety of the vehicle. A full load of 66 rounds of 81mm mortar rounds were carried, with more shells available from supply trucks or towed trailers. This model represents the 251/2 Ausf D version of the vehicle (it had a simplified armour shape from the earlier Ausf C, particularly obvious was the sloped rear Armour) that was in use from 1943 onwards in most theatres. This variant featured a forward-facing 81mm mortar in the rear, tactically spot on for attacking and moving position frequently.

    This set contains:
    • 1 x Soviet HQ
    • 1 x Soviet Medium Machine Gun Team
    • 1 x Soviet Medium Mortar Team
Soviet HQ Soviet operational leadership improved immeasurably over time, but the heavy casualties endured by the Red Army indicates that overall battlefield control remained a blunt instrument. A great reliance was placed on forward planning, timetables and pre-set objectives to overcome shortcomings. An officer unit consists of the officer himself and can include up to two other men acting as his immediate attendants. Soviet officers can be rated as Inexperienced, Regular or Veteran. Soviet Medium Mortar Team The standard Russian medium mortar of the war was the 82- PM-41 or 82mm battalion mortar Model 1941. This served alongside the otherwise similar 82mm Model 1937. Both were very effective and accurate weapons with a range of about 3,000 yards. 82mm mortars were regarded as artillery rather than infantry weapons by the Russians and were usually massed together in batteries for battalion-level support. Soviet Medium Machine Gun Team The Red Army used the venerable Maxim Model 1910 as its medium machine gun throughout the war, the very same weapon that had served the Tsarist army in World War I. It was a capable weapon that could be tripod-, sledge- or wheelmounted and was often given a useful shield to help preserve the crew. The Maxim was so heavy and cumbersome, however, that, unlike most other Soviet weapons, the Germans seldom made use of captured examples. The Maxim was slowly replaced by the newer, lighter but equally effective SG43 model machine gun, which was also usually deployed on a small, wheeled mount with a gun shield.
