However, a side effect is that the radioactive carbonadium is slowly poisoning him. Omega Red must feed on the life force of others to temporarily preserve himself, which he does by wrapping his foes in his tendrils and feasting on their life force to sustain his own.

Jailed for a crime he didn’t commit, Harlem-born Carl Lucas agreed to undergo an experimental treatment designed to replicate the effects of the Super-Soldier serum that produced Captain America.
